Druid tanking and threatFollow

I need maul to keep agro from some of my better geared guildies. There are many fights in the game where you are racing an enrage timer. When you are trying to kill bosses for the 1st time, you are often struggling to beat that timer. Every person in the raid who is threat limited in their DPS is making the encounter that much harder.

For this reason, it becomes more and more important that you do everything you can to put out your maximum threat. Maul has no effect on the timing of your other attacks as it does not incur a global cooldown when you use it, all it does is "switch on" for the next white attack and turns it into a maul. So there is really no reason not to use it every time it is up as long as you have plenty of rage. In low rage situations, Mangle & Lacerate spam is best as it will give you more threat/rage, but when rage becomes less important, you have to move from thinking about threat/rage to thinking about threat/sec.
