Improved Aspect/Hawk or Endur. Training?Follow

#1 May 27 2008 at 1:01 PM Rating: Decent
Messing with Talents, and the only one I can't really make up my mind on is choosing either Improved Aspect of the Hawk, or Endurance Training.
Can someone tell me wheither or not I'm going to be using Aspect/Hawk most often? Because, I'm mainly choosing between Health or Damage, and I wanna' know which would probably be more helpful.

Have you read the sticky? Have you read other posts on this same topic? have you read other posts here in general?

What level?
PvP or PvE?
Raiding or just normal crap?
What other tree are you going down?
Armory link?

Help us help you.

Assuming you're 70 and if you aren't, it doesn't matter because you want to get both of them unless you're going some weird, whacked out spec. One cool thing about hunters is the best DPS spec is also the best Leveling spec. 41/20/0. Some things can obviously be switched around to fit what you want but thats the basic spec you're shooting for. Hope this helped.

You want to get both of them? For what? Soloing perhaps, and even then IaotH is somewhat wasted. IAotH is a DPS tool, which increases your DPS by about 6% flat. It is pretty much mandatory in every single Raid BM variation out there but far from mandatory for a soloing build.

Leveling: Endurance Training.
Soloing at 70: Either, really.
Grouping/Raiding at 70: IaotH, and ET is a waste of 5 points that could go into more DPS.

I dunno. I've always gotten both of them because for so long, my hunter was my only 70 so any farming would be done on him. The endurance training helps with the farming a bit, plus, its extra stamina for you as well which helps in raids. Any person, even a hunter with Feign who shouldn't be getting hit, with less than 8k HP is still going to die a good bit while raiding.

Either way, imo, the other's aren't that good. Especially if you're going for "more dps." You NEED 41 points in that tree and unless you want increased mount speed or more dodge...endurance is your best bet.

This or this would both be solutions that provide DPS and makes sure you can pull your pet back out if you should be unfortunate enough to lose it during a bossfight. Full five points in ET is a complete and utter waste.

I'm looking at the best possible raiding spec. Skipping the useless talents like Revive pet. The only time I've had pets die in raids (As BM, I'm MM now because I was doing arena.) is when I wasn't paying attention on Prince and a infernal was beside him. Your pet is only about 15% of your dps as BM, its not all about your pet. The only reason BM is so good is the 15% ranged attack speed increase. Your specs are fine, I'm just looking at the best possible spec for raiding.

I view Imp Revived Pet as a must-have for BM. Sure, you say that you can keep your pet alive, yadda yadda. As you progress further in the game, it gets harder and harder to keep your pet alive. True, the 2piece T5 helps with this, as does Imp Mend Pet.

But there are situations where a boss AoE will simply one-shot your pet. Honestly, if your pet is dead as a BM Hunter, you lose a good chunk of your DPS. 15% may seem like a little bit, but it makes a big difference. Plus you lose The Beast Within and Ferocious Inspiration. This makes you even less effective, plus you lose the group buff.

Overall, spending 4 seconds is much, much better than 10.

You bring up some good points. Guess I've never really dealt with boss fights other than prince where my pet might die. I've only been in SSC once and we didn't even kill first boss so there is probably a lot I'm missing. I guess since I pvp a good bit, thats the reason I take the HP over Revive Pet. Who knows? Rate up sir~

ONLY 15%? Hell I'd be overjoyed if I got a 1% dps increase over what I'm doing now. If you don't want to worry about pets, go spec SV or something. You also can't really compare anything in kara to true end-game. I see kara as a dressed up pre-BC UBRS. A thing you can pug pretty much as well as you can run it with a normal group. There is little danger in there of your pet dieing, but as you get into bigger 25 mans, you run into more and more situations that are hazardous to your pets, and more and more situations where having imp revive pet is able to leave you with enough mana and time to still get some dps in.

Animal handler is an absolute must. Nobody cares about mount speed, but 4% increase in pet hit is 4% increase in pet damage and more FI up time.
