Back Enchant QuestionFollow

I've been tanking for a long time and recently I got a new cloak and put the +12 Dodge rating on it. After looking at the math, and I may be mistaken, but it seems like +12 agi would actually give more dodge rating. So should I take the +12 dodge rating or the AGI

For those two choices, I'd go with the +agility for the other benefits you'll get. However if you can find somebody with the enchanting recipe, go for Steelweave

I thought 30 Agil = 1% Avoidance and 18.9 Dodge = 1% Avoidance.

From those, it would seem that 12 Dodge is better than 12 Agil as far as Avoidance goes. Is that correct, or am I missing something?

Yeah, but do they outweigh the extra avoidance? For a tank (which I assume the OP is since he is asking the question), is there a point where you take crit and armor over avoidance? I'm asking because I'm nowhere near that point, and am just curious.

Also, ItsaGaAs - if you are already at 490 Def, would you still go for Steelweave? I was also under the impression that you load up on avoidance after you hit the 490 marker (instead of Defense Rating). Of course, this is under the premise that I was geared enough so that I wouldn't have any def gems.

Point for point, defense rating is almost as good as dodge for pure avoidance. That's because it adds to parry, dodge AND chance to be missed, so even after 490 defense it is good to stack. As is the talent Anticipation.

So its really up to you. The agi gives dodge and 24 armor, plus adds .36% crit chance.

dodge is the better enchant between the two.
however, there is now a +12 defense enchant available. since defense is almost as much avoidance as dodge, it gives you freedom to free up defense elsewhere if you need to.

120 armor is a decent choice for pure mitigation. on my server, it's also quite a bit cheaper.

120 Armor is almost always the best choice, with 12 DEF coming into play if you need it to reach the defense cap (or free up other gear pieces for better items). At lower gear levels (actually... pretty much all gear levels) EH is king, and 120 Armor gives you a lot more of it than the other options.
