Badge Gear (DPS vs Prot)Follow

I'm in kindof a quandry as to how best spend my badges (primary vs off spec) and was hoping to get some opinions from the community here.

I'm a fairly recent respec (Prot to DW Fury... changed to fit into guild's kara raid). Dont anticipate switching back any time soon as we have a pair of established and reliable tanks who are now geared enough that tanking gear should start falling to me as an offspec anyway. Havent had a lot of luck with drops (still in a lot of ragesteel, some quest reward blues, etc).

Over the last few weeks (since respec) I've scrounged up a nice little pile of Badges and theyre starting to burn a hole in my pocket. So, I've been shopping around and seem to be faced with three lackluster options:

Tank Gear... I'd identified pieces prior to the respec and most of it seems like it'd be incredibly useful if I were still prot. But, for now at least, it would rot in my bags.

DPS Plate... per maxdps.com, most of it is a raw DPS 'upgrade,' but seems to be designed to augment T4/5 gear. The Badge DPS Plate is significantly lacking in Crit Rating, which I can ill afford to lose in most of those slots, and (to my understanding) is more valuable/important than Hit (after a certain point), Haste, Armor Pen, etc.

DPS Leather... Has the crit I want, but I've never been real comfortable with wearing softer armor for the stats, and the item budgets still arent ideal for Warriors (loads of AP and AGI, no Str, etc). I could see perhaps mixing in a piece of leather in the waist, wrist or hand slots, but not much more than that.

All opinions on this are welcome and appreciated.

If your going to spend badges for your dps set grab the fist weapons. they will increase your dmg out put more than any other badge item. And to be quite honest the dps badge gear is pretty crappy considering where it's stats are budgeted. Hit after 9% is very mediocre and haste rating is down the list as well.

You can upgrade your dps armor through other ventures more effectively. Grab a red belt of battle, a vengence wrap, some of the vengeful pieces are very nice for dps, etc.

2.4.2 was a godsend. I'm DW Black Planar Edge (as an Orc). Not on par with the fist weapons' DPS but once I upgrade them to Wicked Edge..., given my racial, I think that'd be kindof a lateral step.

Someone in guild suggested I spend my badges on the Nether Vortex to upgrade the axes... but it seems kindof silly to blow badges on something I can farm up the cash to buy at AH (which I'm working on) when I still have the need for some of that BoP gear.

I will look at those other items you suggested. Thanks.
