Someone carpet-bombed this thread without stating a reason. Reverting it to the best of my abilities.
If you're going to mass-rate in a thread, please give a reason. I don't see faulty comments in the replies that suggest skipping Battlegrounds. I've leveled quite a few characters myself and I recommend skipping the Battlegrounds until you hit at least level 50 or 60. Sure, losing Battlegrounds will give you marks and some honor, but it'll also chew away on the morale and eventually you'll be sick of losing, and at 69 or 70 when the big grind begins, you'll take the first defeat very heavily because you'll think "aw man, is it going to be like this for the rest of the game." Can really kill the joy.
Trust me. That's what happened to me.
So while I don't encourage skipping level 1-69 content, I do think that low level Battlegrounds are nigh useless due to the massive amount of twinks in them. Especially as a Druid, because our class doesn't really shine in PvP until level 50 and Mangle. It's just not worth the trouble. I'd rather focus on leveling up. Battlegrounds at level 70 are much more fun for non-twinks.
Oh, and for the people who scream bloody murder at me for not encouraging experience and practice, let it go. I do encourage gaining as much experience as possible about your class as well as others. Going from level 1 to 70 without experiencing player versus player combat is about as bad as going from level 1 to 70 without ever doing an instance. You'll be at a loss come end-game.
However, for PvP combat practice, I highly recommend engaging in fair fights out in the open. I'm not talking about ganking, but seeking out world PvP when possible. That means, instead of /wave when you see an enemy close to your level approach, you engage and learn what real PvP is like.
Of course, at level 19 there's not much world PvP going on, so you'll need to wave buh-bye to the 10-19 WSG bracket and go quest a bit until you reach the Stranglethorn level bracket. I'm leveling up a Druid as well and I'm actually looking forward to taking a Druid through Stranglethorn again. I haven't taken a stealther through that place since early 2006. And the last time I took a Druid through that place, I ran around stabbing stuff with a dagger while healing myself, because it was faster than using Bear/Cat form.
Yeah, it's been a while.
