Level 53 - too early for Dreadmist Raiment?Follow

#1 May 26 2008 at 8:20 AM Rating: Decent
I'm midway through 53, making a killing selling Bear Flanks from Felwood. Almost 500g.

I noticed the Dreadmist Belt on the AH, and am bidding on it. I looked up the set and WOW, looks great and has great base stats. Is it too early for me to be looking to run the instances needed to try and get these? The drop rates are not very good.

Also, ran with a PuG this weekend through BRD and wow, for the first time running, they were NO help at all. We ended up quitting. I hear Scholo is hard, too (is that a 10-man?), and perhaps I'm not ready for this yet, but the set looks great and I love having goals. Beats farming bear butts.

Scholomance is a 5-man. All the drops of D1 will be difficult for you to obtain at that level (at any level) due to Outlands, and probably aren't worth your time.

Please define "Due to Outlands". Does that mean that the instances themselves are in Outlands? I don't have the BC expansion.

Because everyone is in outlands, not doing old-world garbage.

Finding PUG's to run scholo or strath are a chore. You have to do scholo for the dreadsteed quest and I ended up using some guildies to run me through it.

I wouldn't go so far as calling old world instances garbage, but I do agree once you get to the scholo/strath lvl range you are out in Outlands and the last thing you want to do is an instance not out there.

Get the expansion and save your cash/time for the Dreadsteed.

So I shouldn't bother with this set? Should I get the Deathmist Raiment set later on, then?

It's not a matter of don't bother with the set, it's more you will have buckleys chance getting a group to run through the instances with you to get the necessary pieces. You will most likely be 58 by the time you get it all...if you actually do.
With a poor drop rate and the possibility of losing the roll for anything that might drop the odds are stacked against you. Don't spend gold on the AH to buy it, save your G for the Dreadsteed quest.

Plus you can only get some of the Deathmist gear by having the Dreadmist gear.(Hand in the Dreadmist hood and robe to get Deathmist hood and Robe)

The greens in the outlands are so much better than the stuff you could get out of scholo. Some of the level 68-70 greens are even better than Azeroth epics.

don't bother with it, the lvl 52+ greens from outlands are alot better than it

Perhaps I'm at the point in my WoW career (sounds funny, doesn't it?) where I need to start researching the BC expansion, because I know nothing about Outlands. I thought that was a level 60 requirement + the expansion.

Level 52 greens in Outland? Get me out there now!!!

When Jenova says 52 he means 57 ;)

But yeah. The old-world instances might not be garbage but the loot is.

i'm sure there's some greens from there of lvl.52 requirement :P 57 is kind of the minimum to go level there to actually level. (but you can always get greens from the ah :P)

I wouldn't call old-world instances "garbage", but it is difficult to get a group together to go to them because rewards in Outland way outshine anything you get in the old world.

pre-BWL, AQ40 and Naxx, you can get better gears from BoE greens in outlands... so yeah, they're garage :P

Only if you judge the instance by the rewards.

trying to get groups for even 5mans pre-tbc is near enough impossible, so the only real benefit from putting the effort into going to them is from the gear

I'll have to do a little more homework, because I've been a pretty functional AND good-looking warlock. I might just fall for this and have some guildies help me.
