Am I just wrong?Follow

Hello, I am 'The Meeb' first time poster, long time reader... Anyway, I have been playing around with specs on my warlock for a long time now, trying just about every single one there could possibly be. (Of course my respec is at 50g now :D ) And I have come to the conclusion that I do not like anything except for the Demon Warlock spec, which is most likely due to the fact that I have played a hunter as my main for a long time now. I know that no one really seems to accept me for being a demon warlock and everyone yells at me to spec Affliction or Destruction, but I was wondering if there is any viable raid spec that involves demonology and the felgaurd at all. I have read the stickies and the previous post about the Felgaurd build in PvP, but this is regarding raiding. Does anyone have any suggestions for someone in my boat? Please help me, and thank you so much.

I have made some more videos, but since the filefront page doesn´t load for me for some obscure reason anymore my webspace is somehow limited.

Have a look at these videos, and know that Felguard is certainly viable for raiding, BUT be aware that it is the hardest specc to master, since you both have to keep up a very tight spellrotation and take care of your felguard.

I always raided as 6/44/11 and it made most sense to me to raid specced like that.

You definitly want a shadowpriest in your group before you have 2 t5 pieces, and even after that a shadowpriest is nice to have.
As mentioned before, do not let your Felguard die!
So you must know both what you have to do during an encounter and what your felgaurd has to do, where he must be at certain times, and where you won´t want him to be.

Hard to manage, but so much m,ore fun than destro and affliction.

Thanks a lot :) I will love to try out a build that I actually like in endgame, should make the raids a lot more enjoyable. Demon Locks FTW!

it works, it's just that it generally isn't viable until you have T5 2set. oh and a little tip for the bosses who do powerful timed aoe's. if you can't out-range it, use your eye of kilrogg ;)

Felguard gains a lot of viability after 2-piece T5 but can kick *** beforehand as well. I've now cleared every T4 instance as a Felguard 'lock (as of Magtheridon last night =D) and consistently come near the top on DPS.

Demonology locks are poorly understood, but if you spec properly (sinking points into Destruction for Bane is an absolute must) they are extremely durable and very powerful damage dealers. You will miss out on crits (no Ruin) so you rely a bit more on DoTs and if your raid doesnt add pet damage to pet owner on the meters then you may catch some flak.

When you consider though that the Felguard is actually a free, solid, constant DoT that also keeps you alive with Soul Link, it's a good investment.

And there's the simple fact that the premier raiding build at T5/T6, 0/21/40, is absolutely no fun, has zero PvP utility, and is the worst Warlock spec for farming and PvP you can imagine. Demonology is in my eyes the most fun you can have with a Warlock, if you can break through the prejudice.

Demonology IS a very viable raiding build. I still get flak for it, but people stfu when they see me on the DPS meters. The felguard raiding build is great, it works very well and I liked it. I recently went 0/40/21 though, to still be demonology and have Ruin. Wow, 7k SB crits are amazing, though keeping the succy alive can be a bit of a problem sometimes. I find it best on certain fights to just park her out of the way and not use her to attack though, which lowers my DPS some, but having her out is worth it over saccing her.

the funny thing is, in german the warlock is called "Hexenmeister" and the Hunter in called "Jäger" so when i specc 6/44/11 i alway say that i am the "Jägermeister"
