Ive read the boards and I am religiously following the sticky guide for gearing to be uncrushable without heroics (great guide by the way). I am at 494 Defense, so that part is taken care of, but I am struggling to calculate my uncrushability. I know it is 102.4% - Miss - Dodge - Parry - Block = 0 ... (if i get 0 or negative I am good) but I am having trouble figuring out what the Miss variable is.
Name is Valkorn of Arygos for armory purposes.
Miss = ?? (my question)
Dodge = 12.97
Parry = 15.89
Block = 18.24 (No libram yet) + 30 = 48.24
Defense = 494 = 5.76%

Make a macro of:
Hit your holy shield button, then hit macro, it will tell you where you are at.

Hit your holy shield button, then hit macro, it will tell you where you are at.
Your miss chance is base miss + miss due to defense rating, hover your mouse over the defense rating and it will say "reduces chance to be hit and critically hit by x.xx%) If you're uncrittable this will be somewhere between 5.5-6%, base miss for a boss is 5%, so you're typically getting about 11% avoidance from misses.
Your total avoidance will be 12.97 + 15.89 + 18.24 + 30 + 5 + 5.76 = 87.86, If you get a Libram of Repentance, which is worth just over 5%, so that leaves you with about a 10% chance to be crushed.

Many thanks on both posts. Ill make that macro right away. Would suggest, whoever has the authority, to putting that macro along with the sticky (if it is already, I apologize)
Download Tankadin - http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/10642/ very nice heads up display that can be toggled on and off so you can see a real time avoidance #s. Very handy for quickly comparing gear sets.
I also suggest Tankadin, and/or Tankpoints. I have both, I like the calculator in Tankpoints.
