On a non-twink character (ie you plan on leveling to 70) Is it worth it to farm BGs for a few days at each bracket to get the pvp gear?

Alternatively, what PvP gear in each bracket is really worth getting? (I'm eying those Forest Stalker's Bracers at 39).

This is the first character I've ever used to pvp with for gear, so I have no real idea of what I should pick up and when. Here's my armory: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Zul%27jin&n=Rawrbomb

I think I'm done for this bracket - I decided the AB belt and boots are not good enough to bother. But I'm not sure about the pvp trinket and the AB trinket. Are they worth it? Wait until 39?

I don't think it makes any sense to wait for certain PvP items for a toon you want to level further anyway. I did this with my rogue just recently for the WSG daggers, and looking back it seems like such a gigantic waste of time.

Unless you want to stay in a certain bracket because you actually enjoy PvPing there, don't bother.

The pvp trinket is definetly worth it though.

No. the time it takes to get enough honour for, say, a new staff, you could have done some quests, leveled, and gotten at least 2 upgrades via quests rewards/dungeon drops.

Before 70, not a lot of items are really that useful for PvE.
Once you reach 70, some items can be of use, like the healing maces for a buttload of +healing, some Dragonhide pieces for tanking (stam and resi aren't that bad for a tanking bear ;) ) and the PvP trinket.

You should farm those at 70 though, where you gain the most honor for your time.
Before 70, all you're really doing is racking up lifetime HKs.

I wouldn't say it's a complete waste.
With 20 wsg marks and 400 honor, you can get some really, really good lvl 40 bracers.

I would only recommend it if you like pvp though.

Edit : I suck at grammar.

Do battlegrounds for a break occaisionally. But save the honor & marks for when you hit 70. Being able to grab the Vindicator's stuff as soon as you ding will give you a massive boost in your gear - they are some of the best DPS pieces in the game (and good for early tanking gear as well!).

Don't spend time doing BG's while leveling for gear that you will replace in 5 levels anyway. The time spent BG'ing could have got you those 5 levels easily anyway.

I knew from the start that I wanted a black war mount. I started BGs at the 30-39 bracket as my druid to get a head start on the required marks. While I was there, guildies recommened that I stay to get at least the bracers, boots and the lvl 48 Defilers belt. They said those pieces would take me all the way to the Outlands where I would replace them with the quest rewards there.

In a just few days (a Saturday and couple nights during the week) I got my 39 PvP gear, 30 WSG & 30 AB marks and the recommended gear to last me to 60. I think the rewards were definitely worth the time, but maybe that's just me.
