Hello everyone.
I am currently playing a DPS fire mage and have the choice between several staffs. One will give me + to my spell damage and the other will give + to intellegence which increases that chance to crit.
I was wondering which would be a better choice. I am looking for a general rule as opposed to "choose this item this time" I have been going with +int up until now and just wanted to see what everyones opinion was on the choice.

Ignore the chance to crit added by the Int. It's minor. Look at it as longevity vs faster kills. The best stuff has both. I wouldn't go after anything that has "of X wrath" in the name, personally, but any other damage weapon is fair game.
