Dagger or Sword for OH!Follow

#1 May 23 2008 at 12:06 PM Rating: Decent
Hey everyone. How goes it. Well thanks to my little brother I now have to start my rogue over. I got all the way to 20. Was fixing to get started on poisons and I left for about an hour. Came back to him crying saying "I'm sorry". I was like what did you do. Then he showed me....anyways....

Currently level 10. Using a sword for main hand. And am using the level 10 quest dagger in offhand. Going comb/asass route tell 70. Just wanna know if using a dagger in your offhand is wise or being human and having + to swords should i stick with using 2 swords. Thanks.

Doesn't really matter that much until you get to the specialization talents even considering the bonus. Highest average damage MH, fastest OH... like a mantra.

Don't give other people your login info this time! ;P

Happy hunting.

Until you get poisons, it's "Highest average damage MH, highest DPS OH", since with no Sword spec, Combat Potency or poisons, there's nothing to gain from your OH hitting more often, you just want the highest DPS available.

Nitpicking, yes, and hardly important at that level, but it's always best to understand the reasoning behind the mantra :P

Mantra is a mysterious and curious creature....Like hogger. Right now I'm using Feral Blade for MH.12-24 dmg, 6.9dps.OH is level 10 quest dagger Cunning Blade. If I was smart...and I'm glad theo didn't see this I could have read this in the updated Rogue faq.

When I'm 70.Whats easier.....Sub or Asassination. Curious. Also is Lightning Reflexes really that important. Been looking over my combat talen tree. +5% dodge. I know a Nelf wouldn't need it. But was curious as to were I could put the points if I didn't want LR.IMP gouge cause well I use it while grinding.I Sap the highest in the group after I pick pocket each mob. Then Gouge one. Pretty good tactic.

Until later levels lol.

How did he manage it?

No, seriously. You have to click Delete, click yes, type "DELETE" and then click yes again. How did he not realise what it was going to do? That kind of stupidity is incredibly determined.

What I get from letting him sit here and watch me play.lol Kinda my own stupidy. I had 10 Toons. 5 alliance with 2 of my fav class rogue being top fav. And 5 horde. Tauren warrior and Undead rogue being my 2 fav on that side. He wanted to play. Well while I was watching a movie. He clicked delete I guess. He didn't know how to go to a different server. I have set him up on another server. But apparently he likes mine.

He's an incredibly smart 8 year old. Just doesn't know how to listen when I say "Delete one of my bank Alt" I showed him witch one to delete. Well guess he didn't click on that toon. Cause when he came back sitting next to me crying. I went over to look and it was gone. All the blue items I had stored. An Axe for my hunter. =( But I easily forgave him. And now he is using my laptop to play. But I only bought him World Of Warcraft. Not the expansion. :D He enjoys it.

I suggest starting off by getting your skill into swords since you get the +sword, and then once you can
go into combat sword spec for an additional kick to it. Thats just my opinion

Personally, I used a dagger in my main hand, and a sword in my off hand until I got to a higher level. Mostly only so that I could use Ambush and Backstab. Also, it helps if you spec into whatever weapon you are useing. The spec maxed out can help alot. Seeing as your level 10, theres not much of an option as to weapon speeds for DPS. But later on, you want a slower Main hand weapon, and a faster off hand weapon to max your DPS.
