Good DPS?Follow

The last two things I've done on my hunter I was lucky enough to have a fella running WWS reports on. A kara badge run and a gruuls run. I got to study these a bit and I wonder why more hunters aren't doin this kind of dps.

Now my toon has been 70 for only about a month. I think it'll be a month this friday if I'm not mistaken. I did grind up leatherworking to take advantage of the t5 and t6 equivilant craftables but this is nothing more than anyone else can do. I have run heroics and kara, a few raids though I have not taken any gear from 25s at all so this is entirely kara, badge and crafted gear. This boils down to the fact that anyone in a guild capable of doing kara can build this or better as I don't have the badge chest/pants/trinket yet. I use no macros at all so this is not some uber secret shot rotation I've devised. this is just me mashing the buttons :D

I just can't figure out why more hunters don't turn out numbers like this. Immagine how fast all the huntard talk would end.

Very commendable dps.

I would note, however, that for a fresh 70 with less than one month, you are exceptionally well geared. You've apparently spent quite a bit of time gearing up and gotten pretty lucky with Kara drops. It's clear you have a lot of play time and have maximized it.

That being said, it probably puts you near the top of the class (so to speak), so I'd expect your dps to be quite good. Consider that most other people are running a mix of blues/purples and possibly even greens in Kara and it's pretty obvious why they can't push out the kind of numbers you did. Also, you're a knowledgable player that has done his homework. Again, that puts you in the uppermost percentile. The majority of players (as in real life) are not as motivated or capable.

The fact is there are just a lot of (insert class) tards playing WoW that are never going to be able to get the most out of their toon.


As an aside, I'd suggest getting hit capped. You can easily afford to lose a little AP to get +hit. Your weapons in particular would be a perfect spot. They have yellow slots. Drop the AP gems, plug in +8 hit gems. You'll get the socket bonuses, so you'll have a net loss of 24 AP, but gain 16 Hit. You could also swap the purple gem on your pants and get 8 Hit there, too. All you'd lose is a dodge socket bonus which is no big deal.

For some reason, Armory shows your hit at 117, but when I look at it in Cheeky's spreadsheet, it shows you at 99.93% hit even though it has your hit at 117. It should be 98.42% with that hit rating. Hmmm, not sure what's missing or what I'm missing.

The numbers you got are pretty normal for your gear. I'd recommend gemming agility rather then AP. Maiden is a fun dps fight because with good dps you can stay in TBW for most of the fight. Classes should be over 1k dps when in t5 content, which you are ready for. (got to love badges and crafting eh?)

Other hunters don't do as well because either they suck or their gear is not as good. Or some combination.

BTW I noticed the shard of contempt, that's not very good for a hunter as the expertise is useless. go with hourglass, or bloodlust brooch.

Damn nice dps on maiden though. Good job.

How about beating the DPS of a seed of corruption spamming Affli lock on Illhoof? *giggles*
Our Kara badge run yesterday. Two DDs with bad equip; quite a nice group setup for me Clicky.

All in all not very impressive. Most of us outgeared the instance and most DDs where quite threat capped most of the fight wich gives hunters an edge.

My best moment was 1700 dps on rage. Sadly our WWS for that has expired. I have gotten over 1800 on curator, but that doesn't really count. My goal is to get all the highest dpsers together to kill spite in one phase. That was I can have whatever stupid dps I get by staying in the blue beam the whole time.
