Finally hit lvl 40Follow

#1 May 21 2008 at 9:29 PM Rating: Decent
So i'm lvl 40 after playing this guy off and on, the past 5 months. There was no rush. And also, my blacksmithing is at 200 also. My question is, should I go with Armorsmithing or Weapsonsmithing? I'm speced as prot.

TBH I would drop BS for a gathering prof until you hit 70, and then retake BS and powerlevel it. You'll have loads more money at 70 that way.

As to your question though: I was Armorsmith all the way until a week ago. The reason: I picked up the S3 Chestpiece from Arenas and I plan to use it for tanking. So I switched to Weaponsmith in order to craft Blazefury. The BoP weapons available (epsecially with Nether and Vortexes on the AH) are just that good. Imagine dinging 70 and a few mins later you craft a weapon that is tier 6 quality. Tasty.

As to Armorsmithing, you could craft a tier 6 quality breastplate that isn't designed for tanking...and isn't fully designed for DPS either. Armorsmithing is really in need of a rework (which I read some blue posts that this is planned for WotLK).

Cheers!

Your ability to make money/farm mats, whether that be via gold from daily quests, or actual mining and farming, will go up exponentially with the epic flyer. With so many daily quests as well, it's easier than ever. Get that first, you won't regret it.

tiq is right, armorsmithing is really bad right now. i made the choice, thinking it fit perfectly with being a prot warrior, but i would not do it again. and the amount of mats you have to gather to be an armorsmith is ridiculous. the only reason i haven't dropped it is because we are SUPPOSED to get some love in the expansion.

you can go the gathering route if you're just worried about gold. if you're more into game play and having fun, i'd consider engineering or jewelcrafting. both can be very beneficial as a tank.

if you're dead-set on keeping smithing, go swordsmith for nice, useful stuff you can make. armorsmithing currently has very little to offer for a tank.

epic flyer

It does make dailies SO much easier which=more money.

It's funny...when I was saving up for my epic flyer, everyone I talked to who didn't have one said it wasn't worth it. Everyone I talked to with an epic flyer said they loved it and were saving for one on their alts as well.

I know that was a little off topic....but just had to say it :P
