Gemming/EnchanthingFollow

Hi, I need some help on enchants and gems please. Im new to rogues, the rogue I'm using is not mine although the owner is my cousin who doesn't play anymore, so I decided to take over his char and give rogues a try since I've always played mages.

Here's the armory link. Please rip apart the char's gear, it won't bother me, im just looking for some advice on what would be the best gems/enchants available for it.

Btw, nevermind the Glad's gear, just pretend it's S3. One more thing on gems, the guild I'm in right now hasnt gone too deep into end-game content, so those epic gems that are a major boost may not be available. I've got something like 300 badges to spend on gems and upgrades. I mostly plan on doing arena with him. I've seen that many rogues do arena with PvE gear, so if there's any piece that would be an upgrade I'd appreciate any tip on that.

Thanks.

/edit: silly me, i just found Theo's PvP FAQ.

Most rogues that do arena in PvE gear are like me, using a piece or two.

The rogues that end up going down too far in resilience still get bursted like mad.

To that end, though, badge gear focuses too much on hit to be much good to us in arena.

Badge fists are great as a shadowstepper, and badge daggers are great for a mutilate rogue.

The main thing I'd worry about getting is a pair of either S3 or S4 (when it's out, if you can get to 1700) boots. Nynjah's are meant for PvE, not PvP. Smiley: tongue

Also, grab new gems. Resil gems, while nice in past seasons, aren't a big deal now with us speccing ShS for the most part. Since I see your edit, I'm guessing you found my PvP FAQ, but even so, you're on the right track with your gems/enchants. Lose the resil gems, though.

TBH I'd pick up the badge fists with your badges, then maybe pick up some epic gems, to the tune of reds first, and making sure you have two orange gems (Wicked Pyrestone for orange, Bright Crimson Spinel for reds) to activate your meta.

That Worgen neck is great, too. I personally prefer 1 PvE ring (Angelista's Revenge is AMAZING) and a PvE neck, as you can see in my armory link.

Spending your badges I'd do it thus: 150 on fists, 60 on ring, ~90 on gems. With 90 badges spent on gems, you can come 1 gem short of fully outfitting your gear.

Save them for actual upgrades of S3 or higher gear, though. By the time you're in full S3 (next season) or S4, you'll have all epic gems in said gear. I've already started saving my badges for just that. Smiley: grin

It kinda just depends on what you think you'll be able to do next season. I have no doubt that I'll get to 2k next season, so I'm already saving up enchanting mats and badges for gems for said gear.

Hey, Theo. So as a ShS rogue, it's ok to get the badge fists? I was interested in getting OH badge fist since it's not too expensive and the dmg boost would be pretty good from S1 sword I've been using.

I thought about getting S2 weapons once they become available from honor points on season 4 but badge fists have higher dps than S2 so I was wondering.

Upgrade your MH before your OH, but yes, badge fists are almost as good as S3 for ShS.

I mean, obviously you miss out on the PvP stats and mainly the armor pen, but they're definitely a decent option.

Thanks for the reply, mate. The rogue hasn't been used in quite a while so yeah, i has some outdated gear.
I'll grab the new fists, I was wondering before doing the thread if it might work and you just solved my concern.
And the boots, yeah, I'll farm some honor to get them, I play with a priest who's pretty good and he's gonna carry for a while, then again, i carried him with my mage in 3v3 so he owes me one.
Thx for the info.
