It's possible to solo with any class, priest is no exception. You may be thinking of priests as a class that solely heals, but the class also has damage dealing spells in it's ******** While there are some holy spells that do damage, most priests who are looking to do dps (damage per second) will focus their talents in the shadow tree.

You will be able to customize your character's talents upon reaching level 10.

I am currently leveling a priest and was HUGELY surprised by how easy and fun it is to level with a shadow spec. I've only played holy priests (for static parties) in the past.

After leveling a druid, I'm pretty picky about efficiency. But this is great. The color of the quest really isn't an issue. I can go through mobs higher level than me without ever stopping to rest. And "squishy" is relative. You're no tank, obviously, but you can take a few knocks.

Adds are not really a problem since you have a lot of panic buttons, although I definitely lack some dexterity when it comes to fighting 3+ at once (if I want to win rather than run away). But someone without old lady reflexes probably wouldn't have that problem as much.

My 61 disc priest took on three slimes and their 6 oozeling minor buddies AND a Terrorfiend at the Pools of Aggonarr in Hellfire all at the same time. Reflective Shield is amazing.

Well that is pretty cool. You can heal 5-mans with that spec too, yes? Do you need separate healing gear or is it pretty much the same stuff you wear to solo?

I switched to Holy at 64 from leveling Shadow all the way. When I hit Outlands, I focussed on healing gear, knowing I was going to be switching at some point. I main healed Ramparts, Blood Furnace and Underbog several times as a Shadow Priest, so it can be done.

Every class, of course, can solo. Although a lot of people here suggest levelling as shadow, I found levelling as Disc much more fun, especially in Outland. Reflective shield is really amazing and I really missed it while doing the dailies when I respecced holy at 70.
