Fresh new 70 warlockFollow

#1 May 21 2008 at 11:04 AM Rating: Decent
I just dinged 70 on my new lock a few days ago and i am working on gearing her up. I got the Frozen shadoweave gear and do not know what to socket it with right now. I socket the yellow with +spellhit but should I do the same with the blue sockets?
I am working on farming mats for spellstrike gear right now and getting enchants. I am also running instances to replace some of my gear.
What is the minimum stats for kara? My guild invited me to go but I told them I was not ready and would only hold them back.
My warlock's name is AlÃce from Dalaran. The I is a special character.

If you really want the socket bonus your best bet for the blue slot is probably a Glowing Nightseye (+spell damage and stam.) However if you really want the hit you can just stick another +hit gem in there and ***** the socket bonus.

That depends entirely on what your guild wants. Everyone has different required stats so you should really be asking your GM or an officer about it. You should probably aim for at least 750 shadow damage (with fel armor) though. That's easily obtainable with just regular instance, quest, and rep blues.

My first suggestion for obvious upgrades is to get rid of all your greens. Even without instance drops or expensive crafted gear there are plenty of quest and rep rewards that will help you a lot. (hat from the SV quest, sword from CoT revered, etc.)

Yup, Karlina hit right on. Replace as many greens as you can, unless they are better than the blues of course, and get your +spell up to mid 700-800 and you will be just fine. Depending on your spec when you raid, depends on the stats necessary. For example, if you were to go destro in kara, you would need more demanding stats than if you were to go affliction. For kara, the 202 hit rating is not necessary... the bosses in there are quite easily downed and most of the instance is trash pulls so really, get a decent +hit... 700-800 spell damage, and if you go destro, some crit then you will be good to go. There are plenty of nice drops out there, just go exploring into the 5-man content, and pretty soon you will find yourself plenty good for kara. Like Karlina said, expensive craftables aren't always the way to go. You can pretty easily get a good base with quest rewards, and regular 5-man instances.

Well, I got some gear replaced so far on my lock. I'm just wondering what would be recommended for badge gear I could get. Right now I am sitting on 60 badges and I am about to get belt of blasting made. I could also get the 50 spirit shard ring if I run Shadow Labs one more time. I'm thinking that would be a pretty decent upgrade since it has +hit on it. I'm planning on going Destruction once I have better stats. Any help is appreciated.

I'd drop your 60 badges on Fused Nethergon Band (Or however it's spelt) that's also a ring with +hit on it, and it's awesome. Then perhaps try and get exhalted with Cenarion Expidition as they have a nice ring too.
