I find it very, very hard to believe that you have TK drops equipped and don't know the standard combat rotations. Very hard to believe. I have to ask: eBay?

Is this you?

Anyway, for other viewers interested they're:

1s/5r (with 2/5 t4 bonus) or 2s/4r (without)
s = slice and dice, r = rupture, p = profit

At least I think that's right ;)

Good luck.

#4REDACTED, Posted: May 20 2008 at 11:30 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) And always open up with garrote if u can

Use the spreadsheet to determine your optimum DPS cycle. Most times it is 1s/5r or 2s/4r, depending on your gear and spec.

Well here is my rotation on boss fights

ss-ss-SnD-ss-ss-Evis-SnD-ss-ss-Rupture trinkets ect.

Rinse and repeat

That's an awful rotation.

Please, don't post here again until you've read all of the links in the Rogue Compendium.

Oops, forgot to note that for a lot of trash it's more like:
1or2s/3e/profit
(2s from opening with CS)

Good god and you call yourself a rogue? Way to fail beyond belief.

How do you SnD with no CP btw?

Because you have the nice 2 piece bonus from T4 you can run with something like:

Garrote(open)-SnD-ss-ss-ss-ss-ss-rupture-

When you go to repeat make sure you notice whether you received a bonus combo point off of your finishing move, if you did go right back in to your rotation. If not you will need to throw a SS up there to get into it again.

Trinket popping is really up to you really though someone may be more qualified to give a specific time to pop it.

I don't have any trinkets to pop anymore :) Hourglass and romulos pop for me. But typically pop them when they are up, unless you've got a chance for increased dmg (read: Curator).

thanks for that, right now im about 6 badges away from the fist weapon mainhand, so that will help alot.

my rotation generally is 1s/5r and i pop everything when the shaman does heroism, and i use trinket and blade flurry whenever they're up, except when the shammy is about to pop hero, then i save em and do everything then.

i was just wondering because i cant even get 600 dps. according to what you all have said this is not because of my rotation but because of my gear/weapons. . . anyways thanks for the help.

Not trying to be a Richard....well a little maybe (cause Theo is my hero :P )

But that DPS is tragic. My rogue has similar gear and stats (little more AP, less Hit Rating). I can put out almost 700 DPS when I spec ShS Swords.

Raiding Combat Swords spec I can push out almost 1k. And I will be the first to admit im a NOOB. I got my rogue from a friend who quit the game about 3 months ago (damn military) so buying an account on ebay is no excuse.

Im only glad your on the alliance side....keep your failure over there.

My armory if anyone is interested

I noticed in the spreadsheet that there is a combat fist+sword option, but no combat fists option. Is there a reason for this? Is using two fist weapons (ie vanirx2) not a good idea?

I used to raid with the fists from Al'ar and did over 1200 dps so fists aren't necessarily bad, they're just not optimal.

The double badge fists can be very comparable in damage to T4-T5 loot in those encounters. They start to become less favorable in the T6 and Sunwell encounters as there are a lack of fists at that gear level.

But at the moment I am saving for the two fists and I am using S1 S2 MH OH respectably. The DPS boost is actually significant for me to use the fists over the swords.

Unless you can get S3 swords, warglaives, or SWP swords, badge fists are your best options for DPS.

Of course, if you have Blade of Infamy/Sav, you'll be better off upgrading other gear first, but I don't think many rogues here are at that point yet. Smiley: tongue

I think you may want to include Talon, I got a DPS drop switching to combat fist/sword using badge fist than combat sword using Talon. Rather spending on fist, I prefer saving up for chest/pant/ring instead.

Oh hai Theo

Notice I said "I don't think many."

I think only 3-4 of us are, and I have nowhere near the DKP to get either if they drop.

Though I have S3 swords, so I don't care. Smiley: grin

Even with dungeon blues I think my rogue was able to pull 500+ when I started Kara runs (average over the entire instance, trash and all). There has to be something else wrong.

Are you getting right on the mob when the tank is 1k+ threat? Are you attacking from behind whenever possible? Are you optimizing your attack time (getting in and getting out with the least amount of downtime possible)?

Another thing to look at is the relative dps of the other players. If the entire raid is about the same low dps, there could possibly be something holding you all back (slow TPS from the tank, flawed strategy, poor use of time, etc).

Otherwise, don't know what to tell ya. Happy hunting.

To the OP - any changes? I just looked at your gear, you should be drilling out 900 dps pretty easily.

The only thing I can think of is a shi**y threat meter?
