The Season 1 (soon Season 2) gear is attainable through grinding honor points and Battleground marks, but which build would you recommend? I'm currently using a SL/SL build, but since I'm not doing much Arena and more 5-mans and Battlegrounds, I take it there's a more efficient build out there?

I was thinking Affliction for the massive Seed of Corruption blasts, but I'm not sure if Demonology is better for the added survivability. Most of the time I find myself standing in the background while tossing DoTs and such. If they single me out, I'm pretty dead no matter if Soul Link is up or not.

Hlep??

I prefer destruction builds for bg's when you and a healer drop enemy after enemy in seconds of each other.

*Agreed*
Im actually raid specced but am trying to get my epic gear from bg before raiding... i have actually found success w/ a 0/21/40 build sacrificing my imp and using a firestone for the most + fire damage possible... im criting with incinerate @ 4k wearing greens & blues... just trying to get my gladiator. but yea w/ some good fire damage immolate, incinerate, conflagate, and searing pain combo is a quick kill on any class.Im usually top 5 on damage charts averaging 150k+ in a normal length AV.

DownFall:
Survivability is a little tough so i make sure to enter the battles a little later and get the killing blow or have healer follow around.

6/44/11 would be my advise, great surviveability and great dmg for instances.

I'd have to agree with Oaken. I was using the Felguard Raiding build for a while, and it worked great in BGs.

My 2 pennies:

I just barely started running my lock in BGs and damn, but I do love affliction. It's like the middle ground of builds--slightly better survivability than destro, slightly better burst than demo (only OPINIONS :)

And I've found playing with the imp to be simpler and that extra stam comes in handy. Most BGs are often so chaotic that it can be distracting to deal with a felhound target or managing seduce when you can focus attention on damage. Again, just an opinion and there are times (def. Gold Mine for instance) when pets are very useful.

I've tried demo and destro and just prefer affliction. Esp in cluster-heavy AV where you can dot/dot/dot and move on.

Happy hunting!

I'm not 70 on my warlock yet, but I've spent some time in the BG's at 59 - maybe about 4,000 HKs worth? I spent about half the time with a Felguard and half the time with Unstable Affliction.

Both seemed just as effective, but I enjoyed the affliction build quite a bit more. Why? I liked having a third instant-cast dot (siphon life) and really enjoyed an instant-cast Howl of Terror. If I saw a teammate 1v1 I could drop a couple quick dots and keep right on going. And is anything more satisfying then seeing the back of your enemy and knowing no matter how far he runs, he's dead?

Felguard or Deep Destruction (I'm a fan of FG personally because I can reliably go 2v1 ;)
