When do I need to start getting different sets of gear. I'm going feral but I have no idea what stats i need for each or in what priority.

Cat: agi, str....

Bear: stam, str, armor

Healing: Int Spirit +heal

Kinda new to the whole thing.

even though i'm level 22 lol

To be honest, you don't really need different sets until you reach the higher levels. A melee set and a healing set is all you need for leveling. Once you hit level 70 you have to decide which way to go and then you can start gathering the needed gear.

I'm Feral and I have a tanking set, PvP set and DPS set. I also have a shoddy healing set for when I feel like playing with another talent build. My sets, except for the healing set, overlap, so I don't run around with three completely different sets in my bags. I think I'm using one half of a bag (8 slots) on gear. Some tanking pieces go nicely with my PvP gear, as does the DPS pieces.

Yeah, before I got to Outland I really only had 2 sets of gear, my feral gear and a healing set. Except for a few pieces (like that +18 stam mace from Swamp of Sorrows) that were only for tanking, my tanking and DPS gear were the same.

Now that I'm in Outland my DPS and tanking gear are starting to seperate, so I've put my healing set in the bank so my bags aren't full all the time.

Cool good to know.

Was i right about what stats the bear/cat forms need?

Mostly, but your agility will help you in bear form as well, for the dodge.

Even once you separate your gear for party and/or PVP roles, you'll want to think about what mix of it all properly constitutes your "solo set." I only play my druid solo so I only have the one set of gear, even at 70 since she's basically a farmer now. It's a very ragtag mix of DPS and tanking gear (people who inspect me must scratch their heads mightily), but you'd be surprised at how long I took playing around to achieve what felt like the right balance of those cheap crappy greens. :)

Druids need bigger bags ><

Until Outland I wouldn't worry with anything more than a melee and a int/spi set. In Outland, you'll get so many quest rewards that you should be able to gather some equipment for different roles.

I have a Feral PvE and PvP set, Healer PvE and PvP set, a tanking set and a boomkin set. Ugh. No more space. At least they are not all full sets.

Please tell me you're not running around with your healing gear when you're feral spec'd and vice versa. That's just pointless, really.

qft
I have a 18 slot bag dedicated to gear alone and another one filling up with offspec stuff if I feel like changing specs.
I have 2.5 sets right now basically.
My healing set, my solo dps set and my pvp healing set.
The healing and pvp set share some pcs for now until next season is released and than I will have a seperate pvp healing set, pve healing set, solo set.

I hope in the next expansion they give us more bank slots...
I still have old world tokens from argent dawn I can't seem to junk in case argent dawn rep comes back into the fold.

I run around with it; never know when I might be asked to help with a 5-man quest and they need a healer, or I'm mid-instance and we lose a healer but can only find a replacement tank...I prefer being able to switch roles very quickly. If that means I only have 20 slots available for loot, so be it.

Hear hear! Ditto until very recently when I banked the set. And I regretted it twice in as many weeks! Now I carry a healthy subset of my healing gear despite my full feral-ness. For world play and battlegrounds the ability to become a serviceable healer is invaluable. 20 slots is plenty for loot...there's a LOT of vendors and mailboxes around for vendoring crap or offloading it to my bankalt for AH action or DE.

Two comments above had strength prioritized for tanking higher than agility. I personally neglect strength in my tanking gear, it'll come with some pieces anyway. My stat priority is Armor > Stamina > Agility > Dodge > Crit > AP > Strength.

Oh wait, I just noticed one of them says "armor, str, def, agi, str" in which the first str is supposed to be stamina based on the comment immediately thereafter. Still, just don't want people prioritizig strength based on a typo. : )

I'm usually in the top 5 of both damage and healing done in battlegrounds. If I were to replace my feral gear with my healing set, my survivability would plummet. I don't even touch instance healing without a respec first.

And if the need arises, my gear is just a hearthstone away. The meeting stone can bring me back just as fast.

I guess it depends on how good your healing set is, I've healed Kara and a couple heroics w/o respecing from Feral to Resto. 1900ish +healing, though, so I'd say I'm an exception rather than a general rule. I also tanked some trash as Resto with an Ele Shaman healer (tank had to go AFK right when we started heroic SP, so the ele shaman grabbed his resto set and I grabbed my feral set). Was painful without mangle, to say the least.

As for gear sets, I have almost 60 pieces of gear for 4 different sets, a little overlap between bear/cat and balance/resto, but not a lot. It helps that my guild doesn't have a lot of rogues/feral druids to compete for DPS leather, and only 3 druids even interested in the healing/caster leather.

You remind me of a friend. She plays almost non-stop and decided to roll a Druid one day. Helped her through the lower levels, but eventually she caught up with me (because I have a job and stuff) and by the time my Druid hit level 70, she had three complete sets of Karazhan epics for her Druid. I was only a bit jealous.

Now she's working on her Mage, though, so I don't know what the Druid's like anymore. I wonder what her /played time is.

If I know beforehand that I'm supposed to heal, I'll sometimes respec just to make *my* life easier, but I've yet to have trouble in regular ol' 5 man content healing with a feral spec. :S

I carry around my DPS set, Tank set, High Stam Tank set, PvP set & Healing set. Some crossover between sets of course.

In my bank I keep a Balance set (Never used lol) as well as a Frost Resist set & Nature Resist set for Hydross.

I have all 18 slotters in bank & backpack and am always struggling for space (I can't bring myself to DE all my old Tier gear from before BC). I usually roll with 5-10 free slots depending on how many slots are taken up with food, scrolls, elixirs, mana & healing pots, weightstones, reagents etc. If I am going out farming, I mail all the non-BoP stuff to my bank alt and mail it back straight away so it's always available from the mailbox anytime.

I'd love to put together more resist sets to have some fun with (eg. max out a shadow resist set to duel a shadow priest friend) but at this stage I can't afford the space :)

I have 4 FULL sets of gear with a little overlap. that is ~60 pieces of gear. Needless to say I have a full bank with all 18/20 slotters at this point >.<

Full balance set (sadly most of it is cloth).
Full tanking set (they call me fluffy for some reason...).
Full healing set (With some extra spirit gear - 800Mp5 FTW).
Full feral dps set (rogues hate me).

For the OP: At around 2.2k AP Agility starts to become better than strength point for point for kitty dps. And you really dont need to worry about multiple sets of gear until around outlands when it becomes easier to get. A little int/spirit gear for healing every now and again will be fine until then.

GL and enjoy your druid. Most fun class in the game!
