I got myself in a little bit of a mess, I think. I hit 70 way sooner than expected, BEFORE getting enough honor to buy a full set of weapons and BEFORE the S2 stuff will be available through honor points. I just did my quests and a couple of instances on double xp and BANG I went from an average-geared 69 to an under-equipped 70.
I picked up a S1 MH however since it's so much of an improvement over Ced's Carver, much more than S2 will be over S1. Still using Ced's in OH though.
But what's next? I'm quite tempted to spend the next 17k honor on OH and War Edge rather than another MH for my Muti OH of whatever season it might be at that time, even though that would hurt my Muti quite a bit I guess. My first 45 badges would then probably go towards the Mutilator to have that slot taken care of for good.
I can't use the famous spreadsheet thanks to using Open Office to see how things will play out, so somebody please tell me if I'm on the right path.

OH next definately, rogue is the primary melee dps dealer so you're gonna need some good weapons to live up to that name :D
And what about using some patience? S4 isn't very far away, my advice is to really stop wasting points in S1 stuff while you could get S2 for the same price in a few weeks. Unless you're capped at 75k of course, but I doubt that.
Badges stuff however can't be a bad choice though, so go for it if you have them. It'll cost you 150 badges to have both weapons, which takes some time to gather.

Yeah I tried this whole patience thing, and it lasted about.. well, a few hours :)
It just plain sucks to start from scratch. I need to get into heroics and our Kara farm runs asap for a steady stream of incoming badges. I'm the only one in my guild right now who is trying to gear up a rogue, so everything that drops in those places will be mine - with the exception of the T4 tokens where a resto Shammy we're trying to get ready has priority right now.
Things seem rather easy on the PvE side. I got the Fel Leather set made, have been wearing the engineering goggles for quite some time now, so at least some of my gear slots are filled to the best of my ability before badges and heroics.
PvP gear is a major mess though. I picked up the Opportunist's stuff, but while my survivability went up some, my damage went way down.
People have been waiting for S4 for weeks now, and it just doesn't seem to happen. Long faces every Wednesday morning after realizing that yet again it was decided to wait.
I just don't know what to make of all this. S1 is so much of an upgrade over what I have right now that I really can't make up my mind about whether or not it's smart to wait and continue to utterly suck in the meantime. I've been contemplating maybe getting the pieces that will now have rating requirements first, like boots and bracers, but even that might be a waste of honor points if that stuff is getting cheaper when the S4 gear comes out.
Still trying to get this dagger thing figured out though. With the 1.4 speed OH I'd be saving some energy on shiv (which has become a good friend of mine since I got it) as it would only cost 34 rather than 38, but I'd be losing damage on each Muti. In PvE, my white damage should remain unaffected, but I can't quite figure out to what extent getting a full poison stack up sooner will make up for the damage lost on each Mutilate. Should I be worried at all being that once I got those 150 badges I'll have the whole thing taken care of, and everything right now will only be temporary anyway?
Really wish someone would rewrite the spreadsheet to make it compatible with OO :(

Don't fool yourself thinking that a mere S1 OH will change your world. Only a full S1 would be the "huge upgrade" you mention.
Since you don't have time to get it, rather save your points for S2. And obviously save your arena points for S4.
In the meantime, you just have to get 45 badges for your Mutilator OH and you'll be fine. Especially if you PVE which will give you access to nice epic PVE stuff which will serve you better than S1.
