Hello..I am a lvl 25 hunter and trained myself a new lvl 10 pet..I was training it fighting lvl 11-12 mons, but after what seemed an excessive length of time, it did not gain any experience. I kept it well fed all the time. Do I have to kill mons at my lvl for it to gain exp ?...killing lvl 12 mons does not give me any exp.

For your pet to get xp from mobs, the mob needs to give you xp.
So, it has to be green to you or higher.
