Not much dpsFollow

Well i have a general question here, here is my armory.

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Norgannon&n=Mikesalt

For some reason (or maybe it is just me). In 5-mans or raids, i just am not near the top of the dps charts. generally 3rd in 5 and around 5th in raids.

Could my rotation be a problem? Or is it my talents? I love daggers just dropped some badges to get new one. I rarely pvp, so not worried about any spec or items for that, strictly pve for now.

I generally try to open in stealth,

Ambush
SnD
SSx5
Eviscerate

Some situations i will use another choice but mostly this is my main rotation for most mobs. Seems that the numbers that pop up are really low, see 140-500 white and around 750-1000 yellow.

I have not been able to find a dps meter just for myself, or how to figure my dps.

Im going to respec, still combat dagger, will be changing a few talent spots, gonna pick up weapon expertise and drop 2 in lighting reflexes.

But before i spec wanted to get opinions from here, is Master of deception really that helpful? 5-mans i generally use sap for some CC, raids(and by that I mean kara for now) of course that can't be use there.

I know I still have one green item, working on that one with badges and runs.

One more question, the new badge vendor in SSO has 2 off-hand daggers, both are exactly the same except for attack speed. one is 1.5 and other 1.8 well I grabbed the faster one thinking off-hand faster the better but rethinking there must be a reason they have the other available.

Thanks for any advice that is given.

Drop the 5 from MoD and put them in Opportunity. Take 2 from Imp. Evis and put them in Puncturing Wounds, then do something to max that out and grab Weapon Expertise in the combat tree.

Here is what I would use. Granted, I'm only 67 and not the most knowledgeable about Rogue, but it was my impression that if you're going to spec combat daggers, you want to backstab everything in sight. We don't have a lot going for our SS with a low-damage mainhand.

Try this out for a damage meter, it's pretty in-depth and useful.

Also, get the rest of your gear enchanted, and get rid of those +10 stamina armor kits.

Take this with a grain of salt, 'cause I'm not an expert, but it's the changes I would make. If anyone can demonstrate a decent rotation for combat daggers (and confirm that backstab should be bread and butter) then I'd be glad to hear it.

Edit:

More than likely the slower one is for mutilate builds. You would want the 1.5 speed for your combat build.

I know the enchants are junk really, well the +10 stamina, was looking at that as you responded. Going to be working on that today.

You do not use eviscerate on bosses.

If you insist on being Combat Daggers you want to use Backstab not SS.

Get the Shattered Sun Pendant of Might instead of Resolve.

Get more Hit Rating, you need it desperately.

Put Cobrahide Patch instead of Clefthoof Patch on your pants.

Instead of telling you what to move where I'm just gonna give you a spec that would be way way better than what you have.

You can move some points around, namely Imp. Kick, Lethality, and Imp. Sprint if you want. But everything else is pretty much needed.

Hit rating is 127.

Raiding with pvp gear on.

Green gloves.

Horrible Enchants - drop all +stam EC. You don't need them.

It's surprising you make 3rd without rupture in your cycle.

Not really, rupture is only about 7% of dps at that level. It is better than eviscerate by quie a bit, though.

You should be using a rotation with SnD and Rupture in it. Keeping SnD up is the most important thing you can do.

Quote:
Combat dagger builds should use a 3s/5s/5r cycle, unless the rogue has T4 2pc, in which case he should use 1s/3r. If the target is immune to bleed effects, use 3s/5s/5e (or 1s/3e, if you have T4 2pc).

s= SnD
r= rupture
e = eviscerate

The number before them is how many combo points you should get before usign each one.

The most important thing, if you're moving in and out of melee, is to stop energy capping out and keeping SnD up.

If you have time, best read this:

Well i got a new item today and changed out the enchants, did change the neck piece yet, was using it for the extra hit rating and respecced.

I got the damage meter, currently running Heroic BF.

What kinda numbers should i be seeing as far as dps? i am staying around 550 so far after first boss. and i am leading in dps. Learning the new rotation, seems to be working well.

Already looks better. Get your hit up towards 300 and you'll see a massive difference. I'm not a theorycrafter, but 550 seems about right for the AP/hit that you have now.
