You guys can carp all you like. I don't need parity in numbers or to be the 'chosen' class for arena or to be the last class standing. I enjoy being a hunter in arena, it's really challenging and fun. If you don't like it, fine, don't do it.
Maybe there is a balance in us being the easiest class to level and the hardest to master...
All the above would be great, Sloshot, if you had a decent Arena rating and could be thumbing your nose at the poor fools who just never managed to figure out how to play their class in the Arena.
But instead you are tied for last place on your team, and are well below 1500. I am not pointing at that and saying that you personally suck or anything, I'm just saying that you don't seem to have much experience doing any winning as a Hunter in the Arena, and so to post contrary arguments doesn't give you much credibility beyond the ability of anyone on the Internet to post speculative and unsupported opinions.
I also am on not one but three sub-1500 teams. As I have said before, I play Arena only with RL friends, and many of them are not raiders and so don't have the T5/BoJ gear I have to augment my PvP set. So we have no illusions that we'll be anything other than "charity epic" farmers, so far as Arena is concerned. And that's fine for us. Arena gear gives the non-raiders some purples, which are upgrades to their casual PvE gear, and it has let me build a PvP gear set which serves me well in BGs, and one piece (S3 helm) which I wear for PvE. And we have a lot of fun together. But running weekly Arena for all of S3 has shown me the mechanical difficulties associated with playing a Hunter in the Arena, LoS, shoot and move, limited room to kite or avoid melee range, etc. I think that gives me the latitude to say with confidence that Hunters are always going to be poor performers in the Arena unless something changes.
