Is this set worth making for an enhancement shaman? I'm thinking about taking up leatherworking to make this when my shammy hits 70 so I can jump into kara and heroics pretty quick, but I've heard its crap.

What do you experts think?

it is not a bad set but it is easy to get better

here is the Ebon netherscale set:
http://thottbot.com/?set=616

but you are offered 6 sockets
if you ignore the socket bonus you could easily get 8 hit ratting in each or an extra48, set bonus will give another 20 so 68 hit rating has some potential and is not a bad deal from just 4 pieces.

but you also have the pvp gear as an option:

these belt and bracers are very heavy in stats and if you have the hit are rather nice, plus the boots you can also get

I don't think the ebon netherscale set is that great, but you do need hit when you start raiding so getting those to buff up hit at first may be a decent idea and as hit is less of a problem you can start replacing the items.

I suggest looking through the badge items to figure out what you want to get in what order, I have heard the fist weapons are pretty great, there are some nice rings, necks, cloaks, and a nice trinket. There is some mail, and while you may not like it, some decent leather pieces with high stats.

anyhow gl and have fun.
