Since I turned 70 about a fortnight ago, I've been hunting for a half-decent offhand weapon. I'm really waiting for S4 to come out so I can get a welfare S2 sword but I just noticed this.
I've just become revered with SSO so I picked it up but I'm still wondering if there's anything better I should be considering? Badge-gear and T4+ content is out of my reach right now.

No chance. Heroic MgT is well out of my reach, as I said. From what people have said, it's definitely top end of the heroic 5-mans and thus is beyond T4 content.
I have done Heroic MgT with a huntard in greens, which proceeded to spam me every day for at least a week for another run. Hell no. I had about 40% damage of the arty at least that run.
If you can find some nice people, they can find some nice people, it will be easy to do.
Optimal setup: Very good tank, Priest/Druid healer also geared, mage, hunter and you.
This gives all the CC you need to control every fight. If mage and hunter are decently geared, they don't even need you to do anything apart form sap most likely.
If you don't have that chance, then yes, Heroic MgT can be a *****.
The Quickening Blade is indeed awesome. I suggest that you make sure in your heroic MrT run that there are 2 strong, renewable CC in the group. Mage/Lock/Hunter take your pick. And be very clear to them that CC is priority over DPS.
I've found that even the best geared group can suck it in there if you don't have the CC.
You can probably get by just fine with Inuuro's Blade. S4 is expected in the next month or less.
