Can a hunter hate his own class?Follow

#1 May 14 2008 at 10:35 PM Rating: Good
Well. My hunter was my first character ever to 70. and until about the time season one gear became available from battlegrounds. i really liked the hunter as a class in general.. in fact i would go out of my way to play with other hunters.

Well i have now leveled a shadow priest and a druid to 70. and after having seen countless well geared idiots roll through my parties i can say..

I now think that hunters really are class with the highest population of retards.
now i know that many MANY hunters are awsome. i think of myself as a decent hunter.

but MAN!!! let me tell a story.

Tonight i was tanking heroic underbog on my druid. the party consisted of a awsome mage. a awsome rouge.. a awsome shammy healer and a awsome shadow priest. we spanked the instance. well after the first boss and into the pulls leading into the second boss area.

the mage dc's and after about 10 minutes we decide to grab another player.. well low and behold this is where the hunter comes into play. first thing he says is this.. "Im mega dps i dont even need to be here"

needless to say this guy was an asshat from the getgo. well we start up with the run again and before i even finish marking and before the rouge has a chance to sap the hunter throws his pet and a few arrows into the mobs. yay!

so after we clean up that mess we go to the next pull.. same thing.

then the next pull. this one is the pull that you have to go up the ramp and pull the naga and other dudes.. so im stealthed in catform and the rouge is stealthed with me.. im markin the rouge is getting ready to sap to i can tank and everything will be cool..

again before anything a few arrows fly right into the group.. by now im pretty annoyed because i only get like an hour or two a night to play and i like to enjoy those hours..

However long story short the group falls apart because of one stupid player/huntard.

i know this is more of a complaint but it really does seem like hunters get the majority of the poor/arrogant/stupid/plain old retarded players.

Stupid ppl you can find in all class. You see a stupid huntard so what?i have seen a holy healer to try to wand dps instead of healing in dungeons.

Go back in time.Think why you took the hunter as a first choice. You was one of "poor/arrogant/stupid/plain old retarded players" as you said before..no
i dont think so.You just know as a decent hunter who is huntard and who is not.
The bad thing with hunters is that in many forums many ppl say that are the easiest class to solo, lvl up etc..and many kids like them..

But hunters are really hard. Many believe that we just stand and shoot. But they forget that we have the most difficult cc in the game. And the most difficult part in pvp.Havent you ever see a tank not able to get aggro?you think taking aggro as a tank is so so hard?no it isnt.
My point stupid players exist in all class in about same percentage.

The time to correct poor behavior is immediately after it happens. When you've got someone who things that they are so awesome that the group doesn't need any CC, you need to correct that attitude, and fast.
Yeah, that Hunter was a jerk. But he isn't alone in the Instance. The rest of you should have been communicating your displeasure and your expectations with him, so that he would settle down and the run could be completed. The run didn't fall apart because of the Hunter alone. It fell apart because the PUG group didn't talk enough to all get together on the same game plan.

How hard it is to say "The tank is doing the pulling. Wait for DPS until he pulls"?

I think it's because most ppl that start playing WoW, and perhaps dont play it too often, pick hunter because of the pet. So did my sister for example, she doesnt know anything about WoW, she only plays hunter because then she can have a nice little kitty.

I meet one of these huntards yesterday.

I was in STV farming leather, to level my under-leveled Leather Working (I was in need of Heavy Leather).

I try to be helpful when ever I can be. You never know, you help someone out...they might have multi 70s, and can help you out later.

So I ask in /1 if anyone needed to kill King Bangalash. I was in his area killing tigers, panthers, and crocs.

I get 2 replies almost within seconds.
One needs, one wants to know who King B is. I quickly explain the quest to the other one, and have the one who needs invite me to party.

Now I'm a 55 BM hunter. The fight is no problem.
The person who invites is a 43 Hunter.

I say in /p "ooo cool, your 43, you can charm him if you would like"
As in, I'll help you get him as a pet if you would like.

So he finally rides to where I am. I let him know another group had just killed him, and that I skinned him. So he would be back in a few.

told him to follow me so we could kill any hidden panthers (that way he, the 43 hunter, doesn't aggro everything).

Yellow text come up.. "You have been removed from party"

Uh?

The Hunter then proceeds to try and flame me about taming him. And that another group DID NOT just kill him.

I reply with "lmao, good luck then" and continue farming (and helping others as needed).

Yes, I did charm King Bangalash. . . back when I was lvl 43...
Do some hunters out there think you can tame something at lvl 43 and within seconds it will be lvl 55?

lulz.

At that moment I felt sorry for the hunter class. I know I'm no where near being great at this class...but comeon >.>

OP, I fell your pain. I played FFXI for 3 years. Took up Dragoon (one of the harder classes to level) to endgame. There were a few updates and what not that made the job "easier"...servers were flooded with n00bs who became a one.
All you can do is look away, or try to help them out.

Of course you can hate your own class. Just as easily as I hate fighting warriors in PvP because they crush me. You can hate your own class if you want, but I choose to hate the idiots who make other hate my class.
