So on Monday, I'm tanking a few heroics early in the morning. Got a great group that wants to do SP, UB, SV, and Mech all in a row. I've got some time so I say let's do it.

We zone into UB and WoW's alert tells us the instance is going to reset in an hour and 45 minutes or so. No biggie, we can easily clear it in that amount of time.

Well we clear our way to Hungarfen at a decent pace, take him down and all of a sudden the WoW warning system let's us know that the instance is now going to reset in 8 minutes.

ZOMGWTFBBQHAX Where the **** did our hour and 45 minutes go? There was no way it took us over 15 minutes to clear to Hungarfen. Anyway, what does my group decide to do? Do we run out and wait for the reset and start over again? Of course not, that wouldn't be any fun.

We decide to speed through as much as we can and hope to get Ghaz'an down for an extra badge before the reset. I don't think I have EVER had so much fun in WoW.

Chain pulling Bog Lords, 6-packs of mobs, no raid targetting. Needless to say it was quite an adrenaline rush.

Let me just say there are 15 pulls between Hungarfen and Ghaz'an. When our 8 minutes ran out and we were teleported to our bind points, I had just thrown my shield to pull Ghaz'an. Needless to say we went back in and reran the whole instance, as well as a 2nd trip through SP and a full clear of SV.

Made myself 11 badges that morning and had a blast doing it. Just thought I'd share this with you guys since it was so much fun for me to do as a pally tank, and everybody in the group was commenting on how we could have never done half of those pulls with a warrior or even druid tank.

I love running instances fast. Unfortunately, some people seem to need that psychological safety barrier of having full mana and complete marking for every battle. It slows things down, and if you have a good, experienced, and well-geared group, it shouldn't be necessary. But how often does that happen? :-P

Grats on your speed runs!

Yeah it is nice going at breakneck pace, mark one mob, avenger's shield, pow, next group.

Nothing compares to our 2.5 hour kara clearance, after going almost flat out the whole time, we were up at chess with about 30 mins before our guild's 25 man raid was due to start, so we figured we'd kill prince and then go. About 10 mins later prince was dead, so we figured we'd have a crack at Netherspite (who we'd skipped), another 12 mins or so, and we realized that the other boss we usually skip (Illhoof) was very much doable, we ended up overrunning by a couple of minutes, but it was damn good fun taking the early bosses as just another trash pack.

I loved a prot pally's sig I once saw. Went something like...

Group asks: So what's the kill order?

Prot pally answers: This room first, the hallway second, the boss' trash 3rd and the boss last. Questions?

That's almost Maulgak's sig...

I know that's the one you're referring to, but it's clearly paraphrased :D

I think I'm gonna try it again with a shadow priest and 2 rogues DPSing.

Holy pally healer of course since they never seem to go OOM.

I figure with the shadow priest providing me and the healer with mana, and the other 2 DPS using a non-exhaustive resource we can go even faster.
