It's funny, really. Well, not "haha" funny, but still.. I've got a level 70 Warlock and Hunter. I've always been amazed by well-geared Warlocks. They seem to be virtually indestructible. And I guess they are. My Warlock has crap gear, but I still feel the power.

Yet, when I bring her to an instance, I suck. PvP is fine and all, but in instances where I have to control my threat, I either pull aggro or under-DPS way too much. And example of such was last night in Old Hillsbrad (normal). Granted, my Warlock was the only level 70 there, but she pulled aggro right off the bat and couldn't shed it again. And I'm talking about pulling aggro with Corruption and Siphon Life alone. Wait, this is the Druid forum. It's fast, let's stick to that. So to avoid doing it again, I held back and as a result ended up way below the level 66 Mage.

Threat management in that way isn't my thing, apparently. I do the same on my Hunter, except, he has Feign Death to save his *** when it happens. I end up killing the pet more than often as well. And yet, I envy Hunters running around in their epic gear.

So I've been putting my Druid on hold for a while now. Been leveling some alts and trying to have fun on my other characters. Blew 500g on my Warlock to get her tailoring up from 350 to 375. I'm lazy. Did some dailies and it's awesome on both my Hunter and Warlock. I have no issues soloing, when it's just me and my companion. It's just that in groups, I suck.

Then my cousin asked me to log on my Druid so we could play a bit together. I reluctantly logged on him and we decided to run Old Hillsbrad, because my cousin still needed to do the quest. And it was an absolute blast!

I've tanked a lot with my Druid. He's got 20k armor, 13k health and 29% dodge self-buffed. Crit immune, of course. I've tanked everything from Shadow Labs to Arcatraz (let's not go there) to heroic Blood Furnace. I don't mind tanking, but I absolutely suck at marking targets (I need to keybind them, btw). Anyway, tanking Old Hillsbrad was like a walk in the park, despite my cousin not understanding the whole "focus fire on my target" thing and decided to off-tank his own target (Smiley: oyvey). Oh well, it was still a breeze.

The best thing was, I once again pledged my undying love to the Druid class, for, what, the tenth time or so? And after Old Hillsbrad I ran an Alterac Valley and Arathi Basin and it was also a blast. Single-handedly held a graveyard and tower in Alterac Valley (they lost a tower despite having four defenders, so I went there, cleaned up the place and held it).

I don't know why I get burned out sometimes, but every time I come back, it's like falling in love again. Guess there's no real point to the story other than telling you the obvious:

Druids rock.

but yeah, I love my druid as well, I think I officially liked it more than my priest when I had a 18 min fight in an arena vs a ret paladin who couldn't kill me(he had s2/s3 gear, I'm still in noob gear at 230 resil).

Soul Shatter is on a 5-minute cooldown and costs a shard.

Well, im sorta twisted in the other way around. i love soloing and i love tanking, but running after players in bg's isnt my style. Also i got the blue rep gear from factions but still, when i see a player who was a bit of reselience i can't do nothing else but scratch his back and i feel utterly useless. Now i changed in to 27-0-34 build and that is way better, im just not able to solo instances or to tank. can anyone give me some feral tips for pvp wich will change my opinion and make my feral druid rock again? cheers

Druids do rock! May Elune shine on you always and the Earthmother cradle you in her arms. Heh heh, that was pretty corny and sappy on my part but today is my self indulgent day so I don't careorz. The whole connection with nature is compelling to me ... I missed out on being a hippy by a few decades so my druid is one way of embracing my inner tree hugger. :P

Druids in history are quite intriguing to me so when I read that it was a character class I was excited to try it out, but couldn't figure out how to travel to meet my husband and his character. Now that I am far more WoW savvy, I am having loads of fun with my druid.

I just realized there actually is a point to my thread.

The grass is always greener.

When I play my Druid, I envy those Warlocks and Hunters. Enough to make me go play my own. But eventually I end up trying my Druid again and falling in love with it once more. I guess it's a modified version of the old proverb.

It's like, I'm on the left side of the stream and the grass is sort of yellow and boring. The other side of the stream has moist and deep green grass that just begs to be eaten. So I cross the stream and chew on the green grass. It's lovely and the yellow grass still looks boring. Then one day I decide to taste the yellow grass just to remind myself why I'm chewing the green grass and as it turns out, the yellow grass definitely tastes better, despite the looks.

Oddly enough, this leads to another proverb: Don't judge the book by its cover.

Holy crap, enough with the proverbs already!

Also, thanks for reminding me to put Mindless Self Indulgence back on the Winamp list, Miskreant. Smiley: grin

Happy to oblige, shameless (or mindless) self indulgence is what I do best. :)

So, all druids standing united, yes?

I have to second you Maz, I absolutely love my Druid. I suffer from severe alt-itis and have a ton of toons in their 30s and 40s. The closest thing I have to a 70 is my Druid who is 69 and a 67 Pally. I love the versatility and the incredible survivability. Those were two big "ility's"

I have no point either except to say Here! Here! RAWR!

I agree. I have a 70 drood, 70 hunter and a 39 lock (that's mostly a bank alt).

I keep thinking I'd like to roll something else - usually a gnome warrior (for the irony and to learn the ally side of the game) but I keep realizing that I already HAVE a tank. Then I think I'll re-roll another druid (nelf this time). I don't really want a nelf, though.

Then I realize, I'm happy with what I've got. My druid can fill any roll I ask of it. I don't have much need for anything else.
