Whenever I hear the bloodlust sound in a raid, it's a warning. The boss is about to soft enrage; we pulled an extra pat; a few healers died; etc. That sound means another shaman noticed the potential problem before me, and popped bloodlust to get the situation under control.
As of 2.4.2, warrior's bloodrage shares the same sound. That spell is used routinely by DPS warriors, as I've recently found out. Why the change? Eventually we'll get acclimated to the sound, but the warning component will be lost with it. It's a little thing, yes, but it's annoying.
Anyone else annoyed by this?

This is really stupid. Although. I haven't had the chance to test this but does bloodlust share the sound of heroism? I've become accustomed to the "DAWH" sound.
no horde shaman make more of a blood thirsty rawr, it is a lot cooler then your version of it as far as sound effect.
Pfft. The ally sound is much better then. The ominoaus "DAWH" rules.
The sound change for bloodrage is a really bad decision. In ZA last night I had more than a couple moments where I had to check to make sure that I hadn't either popped bloodlust on accident or that the other shaman hadn't noticed something I didn't and popped it himself.
No reason to change the sound to something that is already being used by shamans. Plus that noise is supposed to be a cue to dps to Step it up and use trinkets, now they just get confused easier which is the last thing dps need. We all know how easily they get confused.

I haven't played with my sounds on for almost a year now :x I have a massive text flash in the middle of my screen whenever I gain a buff or debuff.
i dunno, the horde bloodlust sound is pretty awesome. but maybe thats just cause i was a big shammy user in WC3. that evil chuckle never gets old.

Oh jesus that reminds me of this time I saw a tauren outside the aldor bank. He started getting every buff he could to enlarge him. Drinking every potiont etc that would enlarge him (I'm talking about his body not his ***** for those of you who are already about to go there). Then he had a shaman in his group cast bloodlust, then he hopped on his nether drake and he was like freaking godzilla. He blocked out the aldor bank entrance. Well, he would have if you weren't able to walk through him.

Saw a tauren shaman on a ZA bear mount doing the same thing in Shat yesterday or the day before.
Tauren on a ZA bear is already freaking huge. He took some potion to make him larger, plus something else, then popped bloodlust and remounted.
The orc warrior on his bear mount right next to him looked like a gnome does to an unbuffed tauren.
It was really cool to see.
Besides that there was 1 of each horde race on ZA bears all lined up from tallest to shortest. Pretty cool sight.
back before they nerfed stacking grow effects, i remember "taurenzilla". it was a tauren using the winterfall firewater + growth potion + reversed shrink ray + "you feel larger....and orangerer...." buff from halloween, and he was head and shoulders larger than the org bank. not just the doorway, the whole f*cking bank. and that was without being mounted on his kodo (when he did, he damn near eclipsed both the bank AND the ah).

Well...since I cancelled my account after 2.4, I guess I can't say it annoys me much, but I will say blizz gots no love for da shaman! Just one more example of this.
