Hello, I got this game about a month ago and must say I am completely addicted. Discovered this website pretty early on and have been following the various advice given out in posts, guides and whatnot. Do to your great advice, my group mates have trouble believing I am a noob, and in fact have really never stepped foot in BRD or whatnot.

I must say, after playing a healer in past mmorg, and thinking the role of the tank was simply to kill things while I healed them, WOW has opened my eyes. I find myself in control of events and dictating the fights. If I fail to hold aggro things can go bad very quickly. Much more demanding than dps'ing or healing.

My little orc warrior is now level 54 residing on Ghostlands and I find myself with questions that I cannot find answers to. I am currently a fury warrior; with improved thunderclap and 2pts in arms mastery, that plans to respec prot somewhere between 60 and 70.

How much longer does a prot warrior take to kill things than a fury when out solo questing? If it takes a fury a minute to kill a critter, is a prot warrior looking at 1:20secs, or we talking 2mins. Or 3.

As a duel weilder I typically put the slower weapon in mainhand, and faster in off. When I am tanking I use the fastest weapon, is this right?

Do multiple demoralizing shouts stack threat? Often I find a caster right next to a cc'd mob, so I cant TC, typically I spam demoralizing shout and piercing howl, is this building threat beyond the initial one?

I have a bankroll of 200gp now, and rarely buy things from AH. What major expenses am I looking at in the future? Should I feel secure or are there some big expenses coming up in my 60's?

Why do no blacksmiths make lower level armor? Seriousy, why?

I often find myself tanking 2 big guys, with 4-6 little guys. Since my TC dont always hit everyone, I try and switch targets alot in hopes of mixing up the ones my TC hits. Am I wasting time with this?

While tanking a bunch of mobs, when one peels off and heads to the healer and I go chasing, I get dazed and lose aggro. What is best way to handle this? I typically tell the healers to head to me, but it never happens. In fact they almost always just keep on backing up.

When a rogue blows a sap and the critters attack him, a common occurence it seems, I typically charge in and TC. This right thing to do or can he dump aggro?

When some idiot gets ahead of me, and draws aggro, what is best method to peel off multiple mobs while I have no rage?

When marking mobs, is there a standard? I put skull on one to kill, X on next, moon on sapper or sheep. After that I find it is pointless cause its never followed anyway.

Anway, thanks for any advice and for keeping these boards filled with useful info. All I can offer as payment is my most noob story.

After a hunters pet chased a runner and brought back half the dungeon on us, I popped challenging shout, shield wall, and spammed TC and demoralizing shout. I died and group fought on for awhile then got wiped. I "released" and promptly rezzed right smack in the middle of the mobs. I had just enough time to yell to my group that I rezzed in dungeon before I got eatten. Our druid was not so amused and had a hard time believing that I had never seen a battlerezz before. Stupid noob.

1:20, at level 50+ specced into devastate.

as long as there's not a significant difference in dps, yes that's correct.

yes, but you could also back away from the cc and use tclap, repeated demos aren't good for building aggro anymore.

epic mount = 640g @ level 60, flying mount = 1100g @ level 70, epic flyer = 5300g. get each one asap as each is required for the next.

no low level mats, and not enough new low level players paying enough for them to make the investment in time really worth it.

tclap is an aoe effect... i've never heard nor noticed wether targetting is random or by proximity. you could do just as well by taking a couple steps back or to the side to rearrange the mobs, or spreading cleaves around by changing targets.

use piercing howl, turn to the side and strafe after them so you don't necessarily give the mobs your back.

he can vanish to dump aggro, so you can safely wait a second or two to see if the mobs reset before charging in.

challenging shout -> bloodrage -> tclap/demo, also be ready on your taunt and mocking blow

troof. i bound the marks to keys to make setups a breeze, in a long crazy fight, pick one you have the most aggro on, or lowest health, and make him skull. hopefully they'll pick up on it.

good luck!

flyer = 900g = 800g training + 100g mount

epic flyer = 5200g = 5000g training + 200g mount
