Well we tried this boss last night, didn't make it. So we get to start over tonight.
My question I have heard rumors of a way to take him down really easy (no fighting) anybody else heard of this something about standing in a straight line?.

dont know of any cheat, but yeah its an easy fight. make sure you have interruptions going on the frost and fire spells, and make sure the DPS is heavy.

bring a lock or two. will make that fight much easier on the last 1/3. each lock can banish one elemental, then chain fear another.
Melee DPS get an advantange on Shade, mainly because they dont have to worry about blizzard. they can just throw caution to the wind and pew pew with little to no regard to the rest of the team.
sub out your tank if your really having trouble for another DPS. as his ranged attacks are random target and do not follow any agro table.
also, every time anyone at any time see's him casting flame wraith, have them yell across Vent/TS to stop moving, yell it alot . . . healers may have the worst time with flame wraith if they are never targeting the mob they will never see the cast bar, specially the last 1/3 of the fight if they are running from elementals.

Shade is an odd fight. If people in the group don't know it, it can be pretty hard. Once your entire group learns the fight though, it's almost impossible to die. The most important advice has already been mentioned but I'd be glad to go into other details if you let us know just what it is that's wiping you.

This is why every member in a raid group should have Deadly Boss Mods or Big Wigs installed prior to running any raid. When Shade uses Flame Wreath and the Raid Leader and/or the Raid Assistants have Announce Enable it will say very clearly in Raid Warning: "Flame Wreath: DO NOT MOVE". If you do not have it...Get it. This and Omen are your two best friends in any Raid situation.

we do it with no locks. i'm pally ot. i avengers shield one of the water guys run up to another seal righteous taunt another and try to get to the last one and pull into a cornor and have all on me. works most the time but i normaly die when it's almost time for them to disapear. lately mt has been trying to pick up 2.
also when he sucks you in for the arcane explosion make sure all know to run to the books not just to the pillers. other than that easy fight.

If everyone is on the same page and some simple things are called out the fight is a cake walk, if not you are going to get your nose rubbed in it a couple times until your raiders learn better.
Fire, Ice, Arcane. 3 things. Fire don't move at all, Ice move in a circle and avoid the giant huge unmissable AOE, Arcane run the hell out. Seems pretty simple, eh? DPS him before he sheeps and AOE's you. Fear, banish, deal with the elementals when they pop the best way you can see fit and just kill him dead.
Simple kick rotation and there you go.

If your group isn't Banishing/fearing the elementals, you're better off killing them than just trying to ride out their damage. They really are like Mage elementals in every way; just a few seconds of focused fire is enough to bring one down.
Don't forget that 'Locks aren't the only ones that can fear. Intimidating Shout and/or Psychic scream can buy you enough time to kill them off as well.
