I recently started playing 2v2 matches with a lock. So I thought it would be cake: I run around and heal him while I cyclone the other mob and keep it occupied until the lock downs the other person. I was wrong.

Granted, I only have about 150 resilience right now, but I was getting owned. Here's the general idea of what happened. We would enter the fight, I would usually stealth, when I popped out I might get one cyclone off and then the other players would focus in on me. I would usually have at bare minimum a pet on me or one of the other players. Then I would run around trying to keep the people off me and heal myself, usually dying soon.

How do I keep myself up longer? I was healing myself but that didn't always work...and I was always dying well before my lock partner. I'm going to check these boards for more tips, but I'm bent out of shape about it so I needed to post here right away! The only arena experience I have is with a shadow priest.

stand next to the lock and chain fear. besides that barkskin and what ever healy you feel would work.

Don't come outa stealth until they engage on the lock, or make sure you pounce one of them first.

I really don't see that team working amazingly well either, but your call, I'm dam sure not a pro.

You should also go and by the revered rep PvP pieces form the various vendors. Between that and farming some honor for the Vindicator's Belt, Bracers & Boots, you should have a lot more resilience which will also make a massive difference.

enjoy the druid/lock combo

That site has enough info for most teams.

Druid plus warlock is currently one of the best combos available, though if you want to compete it should be a resto druid and SL/SL lock. That team and a little bit of strategy and gear will take you far.

Thank you all for the advice. I know most of it is resilience and me getting used to playing a resto druid in arena. I started looking at more info and have 2 more questions. The first deals with talent builds, this is the build I found one of the best druids is using for pvp:

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/druid/talents.html?tal=51130001000000000000050023010000000000000005023351031500301340

I like this build, it is more offensive than my current build...but here's my question. I really would like tree of life. So if I took 1 point out of Feral Charge and 1 point out of thick hide how bad will that hurt me in arena play? I'm also wondering why he took Starlight Wrath over Improved Nature's Grasp...is that .5 really worth it?

My third question is can I still be a viable raid healer (right now I'd be referring to Kara specifically) without tree of life?

Thanks again for your help!

1) If you dont want feral charge, its probably worth it to remove all your feral points. The trade of you are having is 'tree of life vs insect swarm vs feral charge'. Personally, tree of life looses (but i only pvp) and have a 11/11/39 build. Or, ditch IS and stick with the standard 8/11/42 build.

2) I cant see why that player has done it. In arena as resto, 100% ER is a must.

3) I cant help with =[

1) BAD! feral charge is amazing both offensively and defensively. Helps you get into and out of los/range, which is what you should be doing at all times in addition to the 4 second root it provides.

2) More offense versus more defense. It probably depends on who his arena partner is and if his gear outweighs his partners. Otherwise 5/5 Natures Grasp is ideal.

3) If you outgear the raid, then maybe. Otherwise you should be spending the gold to respec twice a week. sorry :(

Don't use tree of life in arena. Slow's your *** down, and that's bad.

Make sure to use Nature's Grasp when it's up.

Use Barkskin when you can.

Get the talent that reduces damage done to you when they crit you.

Get the talent in Feral that increases your armor.

Try to avoid using Healing Touch without Nature's Swiftness unless you know you're not gonna get interupted. Use Regrowth instead.

Lifebloom as much as you can.

Bearform > Frenzied Regen is great against those pesky meleers.

Practice Practice!

tree is actually decent in situations where there isnt a warlock. mage/rogue in 2's is a good example, as being in tree renders you immune to poly, makes your HoT's REAL strong (and cost effective) and reduces the cost of those HoT's by a lot. now that you can depoison in tree form, keeping wound poison off isnt a problem. just make sure you shift into bear if expose armor pops up, cause without armor youll be hard pressed to outlast the rogue.

ive fought a few druids in 2's that go tree in a war/druid mirror match, and its REALLY hard to kill them unless i get a full 5 sunders on them. i just cant outdamage the HoT's.

but dont go tree vs locks. ever. youll be banished and feared so much youll be a non-factor.

Seems like when I'm on my Rogue the Druids go down real easy for me when they're in Treeform. *shrugs*.

Wait, Locks can Banish Druids in Treeform? Any other of their forms can they do this?

the trick is to keep the HoT's ticking at all times and not be afraid to use regrowth pre-emptively (or even if you may not need it, just dont let it tick off completely). triple stacked bloom + rejuv (add in swiftmend) with regrowth on you and abolish poison makes it very hard to take down a pvp-geared druid.

key point in that is "pvp-geared". if you dont have 400 resilience and at least full s2 + s3 off-pieces, then dont try this at home.
