Hey everyone.
I have decided to swap specs to Resto. Yep, the proud Kest the feral saying ooo resto is for pussies who run around and KILL me, and ferals fun man, if i see something i wanna kill it instead of running round healing. Yep im going Resto. And im excited man! The reasons for this change i guess, is, 1. im sick of tanking. Tanking is a *****, you feel the pressure of the groups judging you, its hard, its really hard sometimes, and healing looks nice and fun, sure it will have complications but, i have a problem tanking heroics for some reason, i want the gear, but healing looks like the way to go. 2. Feral druids in arena are kinda lacking, with my geared ms warrior friend, he carries the team, so im pretty much healing half the time, and were not getting past the 1500 mark. In pvp, oh man i have problems, maybe its lack of gear or skill, im hoping its the gear factor but im getting my *** kicked most the time. Then i see a warrior or rogue taking on 2 people and killing them both, THERES NO WAY I CAN DO THAT....
3. I want to try somehting new and fresh. 4. Tree form looks super cool.

Ok now with a few questions, i have to kind of start over with gear...*groan*.
I have saved up enough for the s2 1h mace when it becomes buyable by honour, and hopefully enough for the s2 off hand when s4 pops. I have 3 of the blue pvp pieces, gloves, chest and shoulders, Idol of the emerald queen. The essence focuser (soon replaced) Bought 2 rings, neck, pants cheap off ah. And am left with my Feral s1 helm, my pvp belt and feral feet. So, i have saved up 1500 arena points, and what should i buy, the s3 helm once s4 comes out seeing that the s4 helm has rating requirements, the gloves, or the off hand, these both dont require rating.
So replace my feral helm (which has 46+heals), or blue healing pvp gloves with+ healing. Or instead of buying the s2 off hand get the s4? Im leaning towards the s3 helm but just want some opinions. I think the Helm will give more +heals.

Ok next question. What Stats am i aiming for to start healing heroics and kara,(while off yet) and when will i be a good arena healer? SO far i have 556+ heals(lousy i know) but with the mace and off hand+s3 helm lets say when s4 hits, i will have around 850-900+heals, and thats without the resto talent buffs. In the sticky it says atleast 1000+heals,6k health and 8.5k mana. This to me seems a bit lacking, but im not sure.
Sorry if i have been a big downer on Feral druids, its really fun to play, great tanking opportunity, but i think its not for me anymore. WHo knows i might hate resto and go back to feral :S!
Sorry if my wording is confusing, in a bit of a rush.
Ok thanks alot in advance, Cyas.

Just a heads up.

If you think tanking puts pressure on you, just wait until you've got two DPS complaining about lack of heals because you're busy keeping the tank afloat while avoiding aggro.

To go healing you really, really have to love the playstyle. Unless you go Restokin, there won't be much killing going on.

It's all about personal preferences, really.

At 70, I tanked the lowest instance in Hellfire, just for fun. Sure it was easy, but it was one of my most stressful and not enjoyable WoW sessions. Ugh... tanking isn't for me.

Now, talk about a chaotic desperate boss fight in a heroic where the tank is undergeared and all the DPS are taking way more damage than they should, and your gear isn't all that good either, and you have to keep things rolling with the precise timing that is required from druid healing. Now -that- is my element. That's where the fun is for me, and I'd never get that from tanking. But that's just me :)

About your questions now... Someone told me 1300 +healing for heroics. You'd sure be comfortable with that much. I started around 1100. But really, it doesn't mean much. If you have an excellent tank, you could go right now and pull it off, or if you have a tank wrapped in wet paper, you could have +2000 and still fail.

For PvP, no idea. I'm terrible at it. You might want to consider a Restokin build though, it's apparently the best at the moment. Check out my armory, that's what I use.

Good luck healing, hope you like it!

I healed Heroic Ramps as feral the other day with 1600 +heal. The group was very good, but I still rarely dropped below 2/3 mana and only occaisionally had to drop a regrowth on the tank (just 3 lifeblooms & rejuv).

I figure, if you can heal a regular Shattered Halls etc then you are ready for one of the easier heroics. If you do OK there, then you can move up to a few harder ones.

Speaking of restro druids, is there any reason to not use Rejuv in their rotation? I got my butt handed to me in Heroic Sethekk Halls...Now, I don't have the best tanking gear but it should have held up. Until I noticed that the healer (tree druid) never popped a rejuv. Like, ever. I questioned her, and she got all pissy saying she didn't question how I tanked, so don't tell her how to heal. Needless to say, we never downed the Raven God and I still don't have Swift Flight Form.

I keep a stacked Lifebloom and Rejuvenation rolling on the tank, using Lifeblooms to heal the DPS as the final tick of Lifebloom gives no threat.
