I'm planning on making a lvl 49 warrior for the 40-49 bracket and I have some questions on builds and gear.
Prot spec:
Is prot a viable build in BG's? How much tougher to kill would I be if I stack dodge, def etc and carry a big shield? compared to normal.
Fury spec:
Does fury work well at lvl 49? what should I be aiming for with weapons (speed etc) is there enough + to hit gear to make it worth while?
Arms spec:
Should I be looking to have as much AP, str and agility with a big slow 2 hand at the cost of stamina?
I have been browsing WoWhead and Alla in search of gear so don't need help in that area, although if anyone knows of some obscure quest you can do before lvl 49 that gets a cool bit of kit that would be good. (think seal of wrynn at 19 from a lvl 30 quest)

My best advice for you is to run either RFK or RFD (can't remember which one) and get the plate Chest (Carapace of Tuten'Kash) and the Helm (Icemetal Barbute). They are really good, easily obtainable plate items that you can get when you hit 40, and will easily last you until 49, I think I had mine well into my 50's. Also, if money isn't object, keep your eye on the AH for some epic boots called "Boots of Avvoidance" which are also great lvl 40's boots.
I would also suggest you go all the way down the arms tree to get Mortal Strike, because it was pretty much made for PvP. With that, you should always be using a a monster 2h. I would also suggest you grab a mace, maybe even a craftable like the Dark Iron Pulverizer, which has a stun proc, and put some points into Mace Specialization in the talent tree for extra stun proc.

The Carapace comes from Razorfen Downs, from the Ankheg Tuten'Kash.
