So I was thinking of using a new type of spec (that I saw the basics of in action)that would allow me to use a two hander with reckoning to hit hard an hopefully get more SoC procs (assuming that reckogning can proc seal of command right?). I just need to know what kind of gear I would need for this build (guessing ret gear, but then I've never tried this) and how viable it would be to actually work as a solo PvE spec (mainly), but also as a PvP spec (I'm very interested in how that would work).
So I guess my questions are:
1. Is the spec workable? (the two hand reckoning spec to proc seal of command, details can be changed)
2. Can Seal of Command proc off of a reckoning strkie?
3. What kind of gear do I need?
4. How well do you think this would work in PvP?
5. What kind of weapon would I use for it? (slow or fast?) (2.0 speed on a two hander is impossible? so... 8 divided by 3 = 2.6666 speed?)

Reckoning and a SLOW weapon? No thanks. It's made for fast weapons.
You don't go deep enough Ret to get it's bread and butter ability either. You'd be like a gimped ret who gets 1 extra swing every 2 fights from Reckoning (while sacrificing an instant attack mind you, and other abilities).
In theory, you'd be looking for the same gear as a Ret would. Good luck, I hope you have quite a bit of patience and even more sense to realize that it isn't working :D

But then, there have been people that leveled fully without assigning a single talent point and for them it was "just fine".
Dilbrt speaks the truth. You can't have the gear to support both a Ret and Prot talent build at the same time which is what a hybrid build like this one would need. Prot is terrible using Ret stats, and Ret fails when using Prot stats, likewise for the talents. So, mixing up the 2 just doesn't make sense.
As stated in a recent thread, the "idea" of Reckoning with a 2H is nice, but in actuality it is full of fail and worthless. They just do not compliment each other in any way. I put it right down with Hunters taking Strength gear and using Mongoose to maximize their melee DPS ...
And just FYI: SoC is based on a PPM (proc per minute) system. Getting more swings will not increase the amount of procs you get, only increase the opportunities you have to get a proc, while at the same time, making the procs hit for less.

Alright; that's all I needed to know. It makes me glad I didn't just try it and hope for the best. Thanks for replying.
I don't agree your going to assign no points & level with no problems. But I think it will work if your doing dungeons.
Don't get confused. Saying that you can level with no talents spent wasn't a viable alternative. A 2H + Reckoning build will be infinitely better than no talents spent at all, but the point was not to show a viable alternative, but to show that just because you can do your talents a certain way doesn't mean you should. There are far better options then a 3 tree talent build, at every level of the game.
