Strength and the Kitty....Follow

My alt druid is coming along very nicely, but I have a question regarding the strength attribute and DPS (kitty)....

I'm aware that optimally I'm looking for +agi, +sta gear. But when looking to upgrade gear, should +str be considered heavily?
For example, I have +20agi, +20sta boots. If +18agi, +16str, +16sta boots were to come along....or +AP instead of the +str, are they a better choice?

For Kitty, while leveling, I rank Agi & Str about even and then stam afterwards. I always found that if I was in Kitty, I prefered to maximise my damage. If I was in cat and running low on health, then I should probably have been in bear form anyway.

For Bear, Stam was #1 then Agi & Str. Strength becomes less important once you start tanking, but while leveling you still need to be doing damage to the mob you are trying to solo.

99% of the time, 1 point of AGI will be better than 1 point of STR for maximizing dps.

I think this is how stats affect a kitty:
1 AGI= 1 AP + 1 critical rating
1 STR= 2 AP

While stam is always good, the point of a dps is...well, dps. While stam is never wasted, it's more important to concentrate on other stats first. Stam is mostly useful for soloing or if you plan on being a backup tank or something.

Here is what I believe the order of desired stats is:
AGI > hit rating(to cap) > STR > STAM

At higher levels its you will have to balance the agl and str to maximize DPS as the genral guideline is 2000AP to about 27% crit and then both increase steadily.

there is also a website somewhere showing the table for the amount of DPS to the amount of crit %

I would give up 2 agility and 4 stamina for 16 strength, yes. Of course, it depends on your other eq as well. Overall I'd prioritize agility, but the example you cite is a pretty big gap, and strength does matter too.

I generally wear twice as much added agility as strength, and that works well for me. As far as stamina goes, I stack it heavily because I only wear one set of eq for solo play, but if you've got a separate kitty set, it shouldn't be as big a priority for you.

While I'm sure folks are thinking it, it hasn't been stated here:

Agility works out to be so much more while solo than strength does.

It increases your Attack Power and your Crit Rate, sure. It, however, also increases your ability to dodge incoming attacks, increases your armor, and if you're specced into Nurturing Instinct, it will also increase the potency of your heals.
