OK Guys i followed your advice to get more hit rating and i have reached my goal, Question... Is it worth eating some hit food and putting my bloodlust broach back on? I realise I wont be hit capped but I wont be far away and I wont be losing the attack power from the broach. Thanks for any advice you can offer. http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Talnivarr&n=Colandra

My gut instinct is that eating Hit stat food and wearing the Bloodlust Broach is better than eating AGI stat food and wearing the Romulo's. The few Hit Rating you'd be below the cap would be nearly insignificant. But it's more complicated than I'd like to crunch, at least right now. :)

If you can get a draenei in your party that gives you heroic presence, you can be 1% under hit cap. It has to be a non caster class though.

Based off Cheeky's spread sheet:

Hunter DPS with current gear: 791.13
with vial instead of brooch: 796.92
with vial instead of spine: 775.26

Hunter DPS with food -
- using bloodlust / spine and hit food: 801.87
- using vial / spine and agi food: 804.42

Add in some other buff food, say a warpburger with +agility and +spirit, to get an equitable comparison when using Romulo's.

Oh, look at that, beestun did exactly what every hunter should do when they come across a "should I wear this?" question.

notice the "hit food" and the "agi food". I plugged in warp burger for +agi and spicy talbuk for +hit.

For their own gearing, sure. I'm far too disinterested to break out Cheeky's spreadsheet and plug in some one else's gear and play around with what's best for them. More power to beestun, though.

Well, don't throw away that brooch, or underestimate it. The numbers that cheeky's spreadsheet were too close to make any sort of noticeable difference during a boss battle.

You also have to consider that a boss battle is 1 out of many pulls of 70-71 mobs, which don't need nearly as much hit. You'd probably be best wearing the Brooch, eating agi food for trash pulls and hit food for bosses... or switching the brooch out. Or it may not be worth the trouble. Whatever makes you happy.

Unless the trash gives you a very hard time, there is no reason to switch your gear or even use other buff food when fighting trash.
Currently I do not know a single trash pull in all those 5, 10 or 25mans which is really a dps fight.

Gear & buff for bosses. Trash fights are usually about CC and a bit coordination, not dps.

Go with the Brooch + hitfood all the time, why? because cheeky's doesnt (and cant) see that you use your brooch at the same time as BW and rapid fire (or other cooldowns) wich ups the gain in dps from Brooch.
