Mk, heres the deal.

I've looked through many a good forum. And even browsed EJ for a good hour.

I like frost. Alot. The damage output is good enough that im just barely behind the fire mages in my guild, and above just about everyone else.

The solo-ability offered by frost is rediculous.

But i am either: A. to lazy to try all the talent options out my self. or B. don't have enough gold when i want to try em.

So i will resort to the forums i havn't visited in almost a year. I always got good info from the people here, havn't failed me yet.

Current Spec and gear Here

I want to know if this is the best wat to utilize the frost tree for Raiding.

Like i said, no one here has failed me yet...

In my opinion you really need to get (and max) Ice Shards, extra damage from crits - yes please.

I wouldn't bother with Frost Ward unless you plan to PvP a lot against other frost mages (which you probably aren't).

Shatter is pretty much useless in most boss fights. Could arguably be useful for aoe encounters, but you can do fine without it.

Personally I like Ice Floes as on longer fights you can coldsnap twice (normally by this point I've either forgotten too or it's not worth it, but still i like the talent).

I've also maxed arctic reach, but then I only have 1/3 Imp Blizzard.

Gear wise (which you didn't really ask about, but nevermind :P) I'd work on the Spellstrike Hood as it will last you a while and also get a new trinket to replace the green one. Shiffar's Nexus Horn (arcatraz) or Quagmirran's Eye (slave pens heroic, I think).

I raided frost as this. Was near perfect for raids, and kept solo'ing talents.

Calencia with that spec were you still able to get freezes with Frostbite while raiding? I'm just wondering if when I start to raid if its worth keeping that talent or move the 3 points to somewhere else. Also do you have the gear setup you used when you ran that spec? Oh and since it sounds like you've moved from frost what are your thoughts... do you miss it, was it necessary change?

Few and Far Between, you dont really rely on frostbite proc's in raid.
But In 5/10mans and solo'ing you can utalize it a bit more often, and is great when solo'ing *dailys*.Also nothing like solo'ing a few elites in a herioc pull gone wrong and living to tell the tale.
I prefer the 3 points in frostbite over CoC. AoE with Flamestrike/Blizzard and Arcane Explosion.

Frost +Hit*126* > +dmg > +Haste > +Crit
Had mostly ZA and Badge loot, found myself not wanting anything from ssc/tk for the most part.

I ran fire 2/48/11 for a few weeks, then ran 40/0/21 arcane for a bit.
Each Talent tree i had almost completly different sets of gear.

Fire: +Hit*164* > +Dmg > +Crit > +Haste

Arcane: +Hit*126* > +Dmg > +Spirit > Mp5 > +Crit > +Haste
*126 so my frostbolt fillers would hit*
Fire was fun to see bigger numbers, and required less work to do good damage, But i always ride tanks agro.

Arcane is a lot of work, Is fun because you dont have to worry about threat, but i just respecced out of it because i was tired of using 10-20mana pots a raid night and still going oom. But dmg was there with 2pieceT5, Think i doubled #2's dmg once *think i stole an innervate too*. i may go back for chest runs in ZA and if were farming old content. Or if i find myself in excess mana potion land again.

Frost, I do miss it. I havn't farmed once since i specced out of it. I'll probably revisit it soon enough. Aquired more haste gear i want to show off. The 2 Iceblocks makes surviving in new content easier, but not knowing how to keep your WE up can greatly lower your dps.

necessary change?

I dont think so, i found myself at the top of the meters with all 3 specs.

I've found myself sitting in Goldshire for hours watching frost mages fight. Love that damn elemental.

I'll do you a favor then. I'll go frost. Gonna have to look into the builds and find a good solo frost spec. Any ideas....anyone.....anyone!

Try deep frost, it can mean some downtime in between mobs sets but 5 to 8 mob at a time my level. If i have too many adds i can still get away, lol
PvE is pretty cool with deep frost and the damage is acceptable with frostbolt crits seem to come pretty often for me. Deep Frost does have its good points.
