If you had decent overall equipment but nothing epic at level 70, what would your shopping list look like?

I am thinking of collecting the two +51 decks so I can equip them immediately when I ding 70. What else?

pre-kara craftable gear available for purchase include:

helm of the stalwart defender. personally, i prefer tankatronic goggles, but that means you have to level engineering to 350. you could also get goblin rocket launcher x2 though, which would be a lot cheaper than two darkmoon faire cards.

bracers of the green fortress

red havoc boots

also, grind SSO rep to revered for inuuro's blade and to exalted for dawnforged defender, the best gd shield available outside of a 10/25 main raid. the closest shield is the nightbane shield from kara.

Unfortunately you can't buy your way into gear that will make you ready for kara/heroics. You can get some decent buys tho, and if you have engineering or blacksmithing leveled it is easier as well.

However I would recommend chasing down the quest rewards as well. In the sticky there is a lot of drops, sure, but there are a lot of quest reward items too that combined with bought stuff should get you across the gear pre-reqs for raiding.

Warrior tanks are probably one of the more gear dependant classes, and you can't buy all epics for yourself (unless of course you get good rep with everyone and then you almost could). Get some decent blues, 1 or 2 epics and the occasional green if you are lazy, and then start raiding or doing heroics once you can. That is where you will get your epics, not from buying (unfortunately).

However make sure you get your hands on Gyro-Balanced Khorium Destroyer as you won't upgrade that in a long time. Cards are worth it if you have the money, but focus on reaching 490 def and the appropriate avoidance and armour first.

do start grinding honor and marks for s1 shoulders (or s2 if s4 is coming out soon). at best, the shoulders off of netherspite or High King Maulgar will have dropped for you, and you can use the honor to buy the s2 shield (which is better armor/stam/block value-wise than anything you will get before mount hyjal) or s2 weapons for dpsing. at worst, you can buy the shoulders after the Xteen millionth time farming netherspite/HKM and no shoulders dropping.
