I am currently a rogue, but I would like to et a new class to play (and of course am thinking of being a warrior). So, i have a few questions: Just how hard is tanking really(i would probably pvp at 70 with a bit of raiding, but until 60ish i think id have to tank reguardless of spec *which is possible cuz the stickies said it)?? Do the top warriors keybind their moves as well(for pvp or pve)?? and finally, how well do warriors fair against different classes in dueling and such (i hear that warriors can not beat casters, but dominate melee classes, which usually proves true for my rogue). thanks in advance

generally all the warriors i know use 80-90% of their skills by hotkey. the rare ones (challenging shout, mocking blow, our 30-minute cooldowns) are clicked while the rest are all keybound.

all the warriors i know use a number of macros as well. the ones who dont use the macros end up asking me for my macros and once they get them they never go back.

as for tanking, its not terribly hard, but it takes practice to get used to it. really, its mostly about hitting the right keys at the right time. the more advanced tanking comes later on when you start getting into proper positioning and situational awareness. but those two things tend to come more as a factor of experience.

finally, in pvp we're ****** as hell in solo combat. we're good vs rogues, but any equally geared druid or paladin *will* beat us if they know what theyre doing. warriors are usually a 50/50 kinda thing, more determined on who gets the crits or procs. we do alright vs warlocks (truth be told, we're probably the best out of all the classes, tied with sub rogues) but the dots will likely get us in the end. mages will own us unless they ***** up severely, while healers will generally be able to outlast us (not always tho, again, it can depend on procs/crits).

however, in group combat, we grow in power incredibly. with proper support, we're quite strong, and quite a lot of fun to play. definetely more fun than solo pvp is.

in short, when you make a warrior, youre signing a contract that you will be the pvp ***** of everyone else in solo combat, but wield potentially unstoppable power when in a supported situation. best advice i can give you for pvp is to find good support classes and graft them onto your soul. then find good team players of other classes (hunter, rogue, warlock, mage) and surgically attach them to yourself. then take this horrid amalgamation of a one-time humanoid lifeform and go forth and deliver sorrow unto your enemies.

every now and then i just get inspired. my personal favorite is ********** stability. give me chaos, unmitigated insanity, a discordant cacophony to drown out the screams of a thousand worlds".

a good friend of mine suggested i write warrior poetry.

*Sniffles* Most beautiful thing I've ever heard. All this time I was told by all my friends that warriors suck all over the place. Well I have been playing a warrior. Dranny to be exact. And I am having the time of my life. My friend said that war's can't solo play. Bullshyte. I am not doing to terribly bad. One thing I praise the warriors for is there defense. Plus I don't have to worry about a mana bar. Just hit the Oh! *****! Buttons and watch the enemies fall.

Why are warriors the most disrespected class in WoW. Everyone I talk to seems to have a problem with Warriors. I was inspired by a guy his war's name is Ru. Best warrior I have ever seen in the Aerie Peak server. I'm more solo play then I am pvp. I have fought a couple people around my level. A hunter...a Rogue. Beat them both only cause I read up on warriors and macro's. Hunter kept challenging me over and over. I'd charge before he had a chance to hit me with concussion shot.

I will never understand why warrior don't get the love they should. So what if were not good in solo pvp. I am happy I chose warrior as my class. I'll never make the mistake of dogging a class without trying it again. Cause now I can't stop playing my warrior. Even over my hunter. Strange....yes I know.

people hate on warriors because we go from being a fairly easy pvp kill when solo, to being an unstoppable wrecking ball of death and destruction if we get so much as one healer to back us up. MS, slam, hamstring, all not so bad if we can't stay alive long enough to make them count... but if we get so much as a few heals, all of a sudden the enemy can't get away from us, and it's like MS BOOMCRIT execute dead.

tanking is somewhat easy for single targets in this game vs other games. a game like FF11 has decaying hate and 2 different kinds, but WoW only has 1 kind of hate, and wow hate never decays. is straight up, based on damage and ability use. the hardest part about tanking comes in with multiple mobs. you need very good awareness and sense. you need to be able to know when its worth using taunt, you need to be able to tell if someone pulled hate from a ranged enemy, you need to be able to keep your cycles up and shield block up while all sorts of situations are happening. it comes down to judgement, skill, and awareness, but its extremely fun when you learn how to not only do it but do it well.

for tanking, if you offer to tank in instances you will easily be able to get into any instance at any level, because every party needs a tank. just personally below lv 40 i think fury is a better tanking spec because you get more rage to use, along with enrage and flurry for damage boosts. 40-55 its your choice on spec. 60+ you should spec prot if you like instance grinding, its fast and fun.

tnx for the tanking post, very useful. yea, at 60+ tanking seemed very hard, but as u describe it, it seems very possible to do. i was thinking of lvling fury, jsut having to dps at 60+ i guess.

i first l2tank at level 70 tanking regular shadow labyrinth in 17/44 fury spec. fun times with the 4, 5, and 6 mob pulls in the 2nd boss' room, and holding up to 4 of them with tclap. prot spec is really only truly 100% necessary when maintanking or raid boss-offtanking in raids. technically you can get away with a dps spec tanking heroics, but you'd be slowing your dpsers down a lot since you don't have all the high-threat abilities from the prot tree.

Needless to say I played ffxi for over 2yrs,had aquired 4 level 75's. First was the paladin, ok tank couldn't hit for nothing but I loved the sword and shield knight look. Then I leveled my warrior to 75 and subbed ninja. Samurai followed by redmage. In all that time and when the smoke cleared. I became bored of tanking on ffxi. Just became bored of ffxi period. I love playing my warrior who is currently level 18 and a extreme badass. Have a paladin friend questing with me.

Your right, I don't have the talents that make a warrior what they are but I crit almost every other hit. Warrior is amazing. I don't have to worry about a mana bar and what spells go with what. I'm currently going arms/fury. Completely enjoy it. I have won a few pvp matched and lost a few. I've come to grasps with who I can and can't beat. Now at 70 I don't know lol. Just wanted to say thanks for all the help and the helpful replies. I know my place in wow and my place is a warrior. When I solo I have a bit of a problem on certain quests but all in all I do ok. First Aid really helps and the Racial ability that draenai get helps to. People that dog warriors are the people that do not know how to play one....

There just jealous of us.
