Hey there. SL/SL lock here wondering why the blueberry is never mentioned as a viable pet for BG's.

Ok, before you start droppin' noob bombs on me, follow this scenario I tried in WS the other day:

Sac voidwalker and make a new pet just outside ally flag room. Pet comes with 10% less physical damage adding to the already decent damage mitigation you get from the SL/SL spec, plus running in with an extra 3700 hps from the shield, get beat down a sec while dropping a howl of terror (without the interruptions), start SL on a few as they're running away, pick out a weaker one and drop some bombs. As the start to come back to beat me down again, before I die, sac the new VW, right-click necrosis VW for .5 sec summon on the third one giving me a chance to heal up a bit while continuing to damage the remaining players. As I get low again, sac again, maybe hit my health stone, another howl of terror, make new pet, drain tank remaining two players, get low, sac, continue to drain if there's any mana left and finish them off.

cleared the flag room of about 5 by myself, though I ended up getting some help by a couple of people at the end to finish them off. Would have been close because I was about out of mana and on borrowed time, but it seems to me that there's certainly value in using the VW in BG's but I've never heard of anyone doing it.

The blueberry is nice assuming you have master summoner and are going into a crowd of enemies so it is decent for BGs as SL/SL. Though in nearly any other situation PvP wise you will better be served by another pet.

For instance as another spec your pet may very, if its solo the succubus is nice, if you think there may be a rogue then you would go with the fel hunter, and for arenas you definitely want to go with the fel hunter, unless the other team has no casters or stealth in which case a quick switch to the succubus might be best.

simply put, the voidwalker sucks for pvp.. especially BGs.

in arena he can serve 'some' purpose. vs a melee heavy team / a melee+healer in 2v2. after they've killed the felhound the first time, instant summon a voidwalker to reduce the damage you take and for it's aoe taunt to decrease their chance to hit by 10% when needed (and to sacrifice when needed). basically he's there to provide you with enough time to dot up the melee and then drain the mana of their healer / CC him till eventually their dps dies.

Tried this tonight and got some serious HATE from other locks. Wow.

Worked pretty well carrying the flag in WSG, though.

Flag carry is a EXCELLENT use of SL/SL VW setup. Only bad thing is no IHoT, but assuming you're just running and casting CoEx around, this is the perfect situation for a Blueberry.

In general, though, you'll find much more utility AND survivability from a Felhunter. While when actually fighting a rogue you're chances are upped a great deal with VW, the Felpup can allow you to negate their invisible first strikes which account for much of the Rogue's sucess. Versus everything else except a BM Hunter and an Arms Warrior, you'll find that the Resistances the Felpup gives along with the ability to use his skills offensively and defensively make for a brutal anti-Caster.

I will say though, that versus those two classes in particular - BM Hunter/Arms Warrior - Blueberry goes along way.

In specialized BG cirumstances, the VW Sac is just nice because you wont be affected by any of the bullcrap going on around you - just make sure to summon him back quick for the SL survivability.
