63 Paladin here. Ive had all the stuff ready to go since lvl 60 for that Epic Paladin mount. All thats left now is Dire Maul and Scholo. Piece of cake right?

Pffft... Since lvl 60, I have spent (NO LIE/EXAGERATION AT ALL) at least 3-4 hours per level in city Trade and LFG chat(Yes, peak hours), either trying to find a group - Especially targeting other 60+ Paladins and Warlocks when I can - and offering 50G per instance run (total of 100G to a helpful 70) but all in vain.

So, I figure the only way i'm going to get this done is by my self. What level you think a slightly above average geared Paladin would need to be to solo these? I'm praying it can be mid 60's :S... Your suggestion can come from the perspective of any spec, Im willing to respec for this.

I think Blizzard really oughta buff the loots in Strat/Scholo/DM so people will want to run them and these quests arent so ridiculous to do. Yeah, its an epic mount and requires and epic effort, but lets face it - Back in the day you could easily get a group for those instances. Now, its nearly impossible unless you have high level friends. /sigh

And just in case I get lucky here and "a fish bites" the server is Blackwing Lair, Alliance side if anyone might be able to help.

Any and all feedback is appreciated

What Blizzard needs to do is just remove the quest entirely (like they did with the level 40 summonable mounts) and raise the cost to match bought epic mounts if necessary to compensate.

Honestly, your best and pretty much only shot at this is to find a good guild with members willing to help. Barring that, you're better off just forgetting it for now and buying a regular epic mount. You'll need the riding skill later for aerial mounts anyways, so...

I two-manned Strat and Dire Maul with a shaman at level 63. We actually decided that we were having so much fun that we'd see if we could finish the whole of Dire Maul. We did.

Then I hung around until level 66 and got lucky; a whole party of paladins running Scholo at once for their mounts. That's what you need. A bunch of other paladins doing the same quest.

If you expect to Pug your epic mount quest then you are really not being realistic about it. It is more than likely never going to happen, or if it does you will have to be pretty lucky.

This is what guild mates, friends and IOU's are for. If you can't lock it down that way then the 12-15 hours you spend looking for a group in /2 would probably be better spent farming the extra 100-150 to pay for regular epic.

Not sure why you want DM, all you need is Scholo.
Grab a 70 with the key to the service entrance, clear group of mobs in front of chapel, go inside chapel do your thing, kill some more and you're done in less than 5min.

If your don't have any 70's in your guild spam the pallys on your server, someone should help you it's just too easy. I had a hunter help me, and I've run several people on my feral druid. Compared to the warlock quest the pally quest is a joke.

It's been a long time since I did the quest, but don't you still need something from the horse in DM, regardless of whether or not someone else can summon the Scholo boss for you?

That's the horde version, and it's not Scholo we have to run, it's UD Strat.

Alliance have to do DM and Scholo to get theirs. Sucks to be them.

My Warlock (70) has been level 60+ since a year ago and she still roams about on her vendor bought armored steed.

Why won't anyone run Dire Maul anymore? Most importantly, why won't they run it with me?

And as another slap in the face, I not only have to run Dire Maul to get the steed, but also have to run another part of Dire Maul to get the Doomguard summoning spell. Like hell.

I think it is even more sad that you are putting words in my mouth.

Im not saying make it easy to get the mount, as if you actually read my post rather than jump on the attack you would have seen I have no problem with putting in effort

Quote:
Yeah, its an epic mount and requires and epic effort

and I have accepted the fact that I am not going to get a group, or anyone to help me with hit.

My solution is to not
Quote:
cry for blizzard to make an easy game easier

but again, if you actually took the time to read my post, you would see that

So tell me where I was crying and hoping Blizzard would make this game easier.

Oh wait...You must mean the part where I suggested

Quote:

So you mean I shouldnt suggest Blizzard buff the loots in these instances, so people would go about doing the quests to attain the mounts the way Blizzard originally intended for them to be done? You must think its better that I beg 70's and pay them to do it for me, or wait until I'm 70 to get them mount by myself.

Very sad indeed...

You act like locks don't have the same problem... and that quest is on both factions. I would recommend getting Locks and palis that need the quest and do it together as has been said. 2 locks 3 palis will work. or 2/3 just make sure you have at least 2 palis.

Or ask a 70 pali who is chillin in town if they could help you run the instance for your mount. Otherwise you'll be 70 before you get your epic.

There's no way that Blizzard would buff the loot from those instances though. Do you realize just how much they'd have to buff the loot in order to make it worth getting now? People were replacing raid sets with Outland random greens, so to buff the Scholo/DM loot high enough that people would want to run them for loot, they'd have to make the loot at least MC quality, and more likely, BWL or higher. Yea, that's not going to happen.

Just keep at it, wait till you're 70 and try to solo it, or give up.

Side note for Mazra: I soloed the Doomguard quest with my Lock at 70. It's really not that bad.

To the OP - don't you have any friends that can help you? Or guildies?

Maybe you can use the barter system - run one of their alts through a lowbie instance, and have them help you with Scholo.

Don't forget Karma - if you see a Warlock looking for DM help, then help them. Once you're done, ask them to help you. Same goes with instances you run - ask people in the group for help when your done running UB, SP, or whatever. You should be able to get help within a week or two.

Reading comprehension ftw. You suck at it and I'm glad I had the honour of removing your scholar status - my red arrow turned your name back to yellow.

@OP, I feel your pain. I never got my charger for exactly the same reasons - nobody ever wanted to group for Scholomance. I've been 70 now for almost a year and it's still on my list of "things to do, sometime..."

I was level 65 before I relented on my charger quest and 66 when I picked up my epic ground mount. I didn't want to admit defeat by taking the ordinary horse so I murdered a lot of ogres in Nagrand, then handed in their necklaces for Kurenai rep, to get exalted and buy a mount from them.

The OP did not say anything to suggest that at all.
