Affliction is a great way to make the push to 70. Destro will not be a viable spec until a certain gear level that you can find on other threads. Demo can be a viable spec but if you are not feeling it, go back to affliction.

I've been a demo lock since I made my lock. I mostly play solo, but I got to lvl 70 rather easily and quickly. If you aren't enjoying the build or feel it's not lvling you fast enough, then change your build.

Besides the fact that destro is gear dependent, y not do it?.....I know the survivability isnt as good as others but if everything is dead than u wouldnt have to worry about that right??.....I look at the destro tree like a shadow/fire mage tree but the difference being locks get a pet on top of that so somebody explain y not destro....I understand y aff and demon are good in there ways not so much destro.

For destro it isn't necessarily the survivability that is the problem but the fact that you have to constantly sit drinking to gain back mana.

Basically for efficient leveling you want to do one of three things, drain hunting(demo), drain tanking(affliction), or at higher levels dotting up multiple mobs and just using dark pact to gain mana (again suited for affliction).

Really destro can't do these very well and thus is more suited to end game raiding.

Good explanation.....Ive seen crazy videos of destro locks in pvp getting like 8k crits and stuff so it cant be all that bad for pvp either.

I went Demonology for the level 60-63 transition where your gear is being replaced by Outland rewards. Drain tanking is rough when you're wearing level 50 greens and having the Felguard to take the beating is nice.

Once you've replaced most of your gear with Outland stuff, switch to Affliction for drain tanking. At least, that's how I did it.

Once you get to 6-8k health, a sac'd VW works really well for keeping mana up. Fel armor seems to effect it give a bit more than just 2%. Just take the 21 pts in demo, then fill in destro.

At 70, I can do dailies pretty much non stop without drinking unless I pull more then 2ish. Although, I will cannibalize every 5 min or so.

I leveled at affliction, but any spec will work pretty well.

0/21/40 is a viable single-target spec, pulling 2+ will result in your death or drinking/eating everytime you haveta pull 2 or more mobs at once.

I leveled 10-58 as demo/affliction, respec'd at 58 from to ensure the felguard that my felguard had all the skills then went back up the Affliction tree and levelled extremely fast, only thing comparable was my rogue pre-experience buff.
