A gear question (at 33)Follow

#1 May 08 2008 at 5:24 PM Rating: Decent
As title says, just a gear question on my rogue. Lately dying more often than I'd like, and realised I haven't upgraded much in a while.
Curious what I need to get / if I need to run any instances, and if yes, which.
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Cenarius&n=Solrak is rogue.
Curious on weapons for one. Pretty sure I need to get rid of the offhand (which should happen next time my friend logs on). Gonna bug friend to run me through SM and get a Sword of Omen..But not sure on the Sabre..Is there one from a quest/drop that I could get?
Checked auction house a few times before doing this, and bought what I could find that looked decent..but didn't find much.
Thanks for dealing with the annoying questions of someone new to the class : D

Off-hand:
Knighly Longsword, of the Monkey

Other than that, I just used wowhead's filtering searches to find upgrades while leveling. And ran, and re-ran instances like nobodies business.

For instance: Leather Shoulders for 30-35 level

Take a look at the nightscape set and getting Truesilver Commander's ring and Aquamarine Signet of the Monkey.

It'll be a few levels before you get there, but they will be major upgrades.

For quested gear right now, I recommend the Raptor Hunter's Tunic from STV and the Razzeric Racing Grips from the Shimmering Flats in Thousand Needles. Both are lvl 29 twink rogue items and both will help you to increase your HP. You WILL need help with the raptor tunic(its a HUGE upgrade for you right now), although you can prob get the grips yourself.

Other than that, Dusky bracers are your level. Also, if you're questing in STV(as you probably are) take a look at the server time once in a while to see if you can pick up the Arena Master trinket from the chest drop at Gurubashi Arena. You'll get a trinket that gives you +5 stamina which will probably last you until you hit outlands.

Good luck!

Actually haven't hit STV yet. Been trying to empty questlog a bit so I'm not running back and forth *shrugs*
Found a blue necklace while hunting, had a bit of stamina on it, so I equipped it.. Got the runthrough for Sword, and bought Tiger on the Knightly sword (monkey wasn't around)
Can probably get friend to run me through the harder steps on the hunting quests..If not, shouldn't be too hard to get a group for em.
Been considering starting to get groups for Uldaman for the gear in there (I think it was Helm, Legs, Boots, and Sword that I noticed, might have been others though)
On Nightscape, I do believe friend is also a leatherworker (I'd have to check, dun remember if he changed or not), so, should be able to send him mats and get them.
Oh, and you probably noticed, but as I level enchanting, I've just been putting stamina / hp on stuff when I can. Figure any little bit helps : D

Every little bit does help, but your biggest problem is not having enough stamina. You're passing off getting monkey pieces for others(either because of high prices or unavailability), so you health is really low. At that point, I had about 1800 health on my character.

If you feel like you're dying too much, start looking for more stamina pieces. Don't just put a few health on it from enchanting. Find pieces with stamina too.

Mmk, finally had a bit of stuff that was worth looking at and not insanely overpriced show up on AH (Is one reason I haven't had some of the stuff).. Jumped to 1800 hp

As far as buying the Tiger instead of Monkey, forgot to mention - A lot of the time on cheaper items, if I can find X (Tiger and such) but not monkey ..I'll buy it, but continue to check until a monkey shows up. Learned the hard way on my hunter that waiting for monkey to show up isn't always the best bet (Waited for about a week for a sword he wanted, finally got it, and 30 minutes later upgraded it from a questreward or something). There was a monkey up on AH, so I have monkey now *shrugs*

As far as the dying bit goes, upgrading weapons helped immensely, don't die much now unless I overpull a bit, or am not paying attention. I think one of the problems I was having was just the mobs for quest I was doing.. I'd die almost every pull (of one, sadly), or win with barely any life left. Soon as I finished the quest and went on to another though, the deaths stopped *shrugs*
Mobs were the melee Dalaran people (Shield Guards or whatever)
Thanks for help, again
