I'm not a warlock, nor do I play one on tv. But a friend's affliction lock just dinged 60 and is trying to get through what sounds like a real PITA quest. I'm writing to ask whether he and my 70 (non-epicced) feral druid can duo the scholo/dire maul parts of it or whether we'd need more help.

My Warlock has been trying to get that quest done for almost a year now. People just don't go to Dire Maul anymore. And when they do, I'm offline.

I'd suggest at least one more person. The druid can tank, the 'lock can DPS, but you'll probably want a healer along, at least for the ending in Dire Maul, when it seems like every imp and felguard in existence is coming for you.

I've found that Enslave Demon works wonders at the end. Grab one of those felguards to protect you - put him on Aggressive, so he kills anything that crosses his path. When the spell breaks or the felguard dies, grab another one, and so forth... and don't forget to keep the bell, wheel, and candle from expiring.

What you need to do is spam Trade chat for other warlock's who need to do the Q.

A feral drood tanking and 3-4 'locks will easily take care of the instances. Just remember to SS each other. :)

Great :( I am not far from 60 and that is not what I want to hear. I wasn't going to worry about getting it, but after seeing one on the weekend it has become a the goal for post lvl60.

having 4 clothies is probably not such a good idea, bc in the fight for the dreadsteed, random demons pop up everywhere so itd be extremely hard to fight that w/o a healer or off-hand tank. Have another warlock lend you the items needed to perform the ritual if he's alrdy done the quest. lvl 70 will help a lot if you can find one.

I on the other hand got mine with 2 days of hitting 60. How hard it is depends entirely on whether you can convince people to do the instances.

Thanks, we'll enlist at least one friend to wrap it up. Sounds like DM is the tough part rather than Scholo -- can we duo that?

Yeah. You should be able to duo the scholo part.

I got mine around lvl 65, I think. Had to borrow the gold to get the items needed from my brother, but it's worth it.

With the group I went with, I think their was at least 1 other lock, a tank, at least a healer... maybe another. The hardest parts, in my opinion, was getting the gold for the items, finding a group, and the demons at the end of the quest.

For me, it maybe took 2-3 days to finally get a group together to run the quest.

The more people that go and are useful in the group, the better. Helps with dealing with the demons, while someone focuses on keeping the items active.

We had a level 70 raid geared priest, a late 50s hunter and 2 mid 60s locks. Their may have been another there but I can't remember.

Scholo was a pain only in that getting a group was near impossible. The other lock and myself tried duoing it but died several times because we were unfamiliar with the zone.

In the final DM fight I controlled the three items while the other lock and hunter tried to control all the spawns. The priest did an awesome job of keeping everyone alive.

A very capable healer or tank is required just due to the sheer number of adds that spawn.

IMO I would say a non raid geared 70 druid and 60 lock would have a very tough time with it.
