Hmm...cat or ravager?Follow

I'm trying to just pick 1 pet and run with it through the game both PvE and (when I actually feel like walking into a battleground) PvP. Switching pets all the time gets really old and trying to keep two pets around my level makes it get even older even faster.

According to pettopia Gore would have (on average) a higher dps than claw. The question is would the cats higher health or the ravagers higher armor come in handy more often?

They both have a focus dump, and both learn bite. Cats can stealth but since I'm not playing a night elf that's not really all that useful unless I want to scout ahead (not that often as a general rule). They both also learn Dash so that doesn't say anything either.

Both, to me, have equally appealing graphics so that really doesn't help me tip the balance either way either.

On the one hand though, cats are easier to feed since I fish a lot, so that saves me money in the long run not having to buy meat for my pet.

Dunno >_< any advice on this one?

What does a Recoilless Rocket Ripper X-54 have to do with my asking for advice on this?

Although yes, I will go through the thread your talking about.

[edit] And after reading all the way through it...no idea has been reached T_T

Btw, I use a Ravager. Slightly better DPS.

This should be the right one.

Pick the one you like. It's a very small percentage difference with ravager on top.

I use a ravager. Not becuase I am a hardcore +/- player but because he matches my Orc in green with glowy red eyes and a bad temper.

I wouldn't exactly call it retarded to miss-link ~_^ but yea, I did find the one you were talking about last night.

And unfortunately, I really am trying to just pick the one I like. Just based on looks the cat slightly edges ahead of Ravager. But I do like the Ravager. Would prefer one of the end-game ones though kinda...red and green aren't that nice to look at. The black ones though :3 yummy. Maybe i'll do kitty for the first 60 levels and then go mutant table for the last 10 (or last 20 knowing how long it takes me to level...)

Check out Petopia. It has a list of all available pets. Pick the color pattern (skin) you like. There are a few rare pets with special looks too. You will need to stable your main pet and tame the occasional new beast in order to learn the skills they teach.

>_< I really wish you could tame the corrupted cat's from felwood...

Hmm...snow leapord for a while...then white tiger...but then do I keep the white tiger or switch to a blue/violet tiger >.> And then of course, keep the tiger or go to ravager...

Meh, I love/hate having so many choices :P

Really wish they would completely normalize pets though. When you capture them letting you use sliders to move their armor/damage/hp around so you could customize the pet to whatever you wanted with a point system so that nobody could have an overpowered pet, and would let people use any pet they wanted ^^;

Oh hell no! The day they normalize all the pets to be effectively identical is the day I stop playing my hunter.

Ravagers are so ugly. They're like a crossbreed between worms and spiders. Who would've thought that their offspring would be walking chairs?

And why would you stop playing your hunter if pets were normalized with sliders for adjusting? It would be the best of both worlds wouldn't it? You capture a pet and you get access to a slider, you make it a DPS pet, an Armor pet, or an HP pet that you can make minor adjustments to. Once you set it, the pet is then stuck that way. Then the only thing that would be different is unique powers for each pet family (you know, someday...when they actually finish them...).

It would let people who want a turtle but also want a DPS pet to get a DPS turtle, or a tank cat, or...well...whatever.

Because you can already stack health and DPS if you do it right, or armor and dps.

I'd say get a raptor, that way you still get the dps with bite and claw(iirc) and dash.
