You have to use FFF in the elemental plateau or some damn hunter or mage will pull before you can (even then FFF doesn't do damage so you have to actually hit the mob to "tag")

Soooo I understand your arguement Torzak, except you made a video showing a level 70 druid in all kara/badge gear killing level 67's. I can do that in my greens/blues without stopping too. The difference is that not everyone is going to vastly overgear everything they fight like you do.

The only thing in my dps set out of kara is Garona's Signet Ring. That aside, I get your point, to an extent.

You don't need to overgear your opponents for the combination of Feral Swiftness Talents + FFF a target to meet you half way to basically make up any difference prowl/pouncing would have made.

My whole journey to Lv70 I basically did the same thing. I will admit that my time in FFXI has me habbitually doing everything I can as best as I can. A good bit of my solo work would consist of popping consumeables, pretty much every instance I was in also consisted of popping consumeables all the way to Lv70. I farmed up Argent Dawn Exalted before I was Lv63 and this is my first/only character and the only reason I did it was for the shoulder enchant for my tank set at the time. Call it a power gamer or whatever you want. I've always seen prowling as inferior to just mowing stuff down. Personal opinion? Sure it is.

Have I not already said lines such as:

Not sayings it's never worth using (casters might be a good one for it), but for your typical kill 20 of that guy and 15 of this guy, you're probably just going to breeze through it.

In the end, and ultimately, solo dps and style is up to you and may even vary depending on the surroundings, type of opponent, or other stuff.

Hell, both of those quotes came out of my first post in this thread.

If you outgear/level whatever you are killing, your way is definitely better.
If you don't then you should probably use a little more tact and take the extra second or two to pounce and that will in the end save you some downtime healing.

And depending how far your oponent is from you, a simple rejuv >> cat >> keep running to target >> FFF >> meet half way will probably accomplish the same thing as far as keeping health topped off.

On the flip side you could always rejuv after the target is neutralized. Takes quite literally ~1.5secs to rejuv and be back in cat. And the whole duration of that you can be moving to next target.

If you're actually playing to play (and a reader/researcher of forums), and not playing to shortcut yourself to Lv70 (something most first time players will more likely do on a first character rather than a second character), you should never find yourself in a position that leader of the pack isn't more or less sufficient enough to carry you through with occasional rejuv or lifebloom once you get it to kinda help out.

Therefore it is most likely, although for the sake of arguing not definitely, better to pounce and get those couple hits in before the mob can hit you.

And from there, it's not like you're really saying anything I hadn't already said before. Really it's just said the other way around. Afterall, I hadn't ever used any definitive terms saying that prowl/pounce was definitely worse off and instead I've used words that clearly stated my position on it.

And because you're not really saying anything I hadn't already opinionized before, I'm not really sure how to interpret your post, but it's leaning toward offensive. But maybe that's just how I read it in my head /shrug.

I now use the shot rotation above, the only thing I had to change was the wait for 70-80 energy before the rip. I just had a question on dps averages. Anyone know where my dps SHOULD be at in SSC and TK? I have 3080 ap and 38% crit with 125 hit rating. I'm normally in the 800s but I want to be around 1k. Are my stats just not there or do I need a faster computer lol? I don't post my Armory because it will more than likely have my pvp gear on (that is what I quest in on a pvp server) I just recently switched out romulo's poison vial and that trinket from hydross that gives you the blessing for the crystal forged trinket and the 41 badge trinket hopeing that manual procs will be better than passive.
thanks

Those stats are with MoTW only.

Solo mob grinding goes Pounce>FF>mangle>shred> (if OOC procs) shred > if not then rip followed by maim. Why maim you ask, well FB takes all of your energy, when I'm grinding I want to be able to kill next mob right away. I'm doing so much damage that the mob dies from Rip and Pounce bleeding before Maim stun wears off. The whole time my energy is climbing while I white damage the mob. 90% of the time I have to wait for prowl to finish cooldown. That in my opinion is the best way to grind for hours without any down time at all.

If solo grinding melee on my kitty I FF > mangle til 4/5 combo points, rip, if the mob is at 40% health I move on to the next melee mob and FF rinse/repeat.

Constantly moving, everything dying, it's great. In all honesty, if you get a pounce combo off, something MIGHT die immediately, but I prefer constant pace grinding.

If I'm grinding casters or if a caster gets thrown into the mix I generally FF> run up on caster >mangle>maim>shred>mangle. Usually that's enough for a caster, and they might get 1 spell off if they're lucky.

I ground 3k consortium rep in the heap with this method in about 1 hour. 120 zaxxis insignias, and I'm in pretty crappy gear.

I do the same thing, but oddly enough didn't figure out to do it until I started playing a priest and got more used to that DOT playstyle. Fer heaven's sake, don't stand there fighting the thing til it's all the way dead.
