Beginning Equipment Question(s)Follow

Hi all,

I'm not new to WoW, but am new to Druids, so I thought I would ask wiser and more experienced minds than myself some simple questions.

When just starting out, and thinking a Cat Feral bend, what does one want for equipment? I read the sticky, and it recommends "of the Tiger" (+Str, +Agi) stuff. More damage and more chance for a crit cannot be a bad thing. The problem(s) I have with that is what is the back-up? If "of the Tiger" is not available, what should replace it? "Of the Bear" (+Str, +Sta) would be the logical choice, but their are also solid arguments for "of the Eagle" (+Int, +Sta) or "of the Gorilla (+Str, +Int) as well.

I could be wrong, but I am thinking "of the Tiger" stuff exists before lvl 30 anyway, so that would make the alternatives all the more important.

It is also possible, that with a Druid of such low level, the "of the Whatever" makes no real difference at all and I'm shouldn't worry about such things until lvl 50+.

Am I on the right track? Opinions? Thanks in advance.

You are correct. Don't sweat it too much because you'll be replacing gear very fast. All the options you outlined below are good. In general, agi > str > ap is what I learned in Druid school, and stamina is always good for tanking and basic survivability. Int is not that critical for a feral unless you PvP, so I'd put eagle and gorilla below tiger and bear.

Tiger, Monkey, and Bear, generally in that order. Once you get to OL greens, you can add Beast and Bandit to the list too.

For a feral druid, you want:

Stamina (for staying alive)
Agility (for cat AP, crit, and dodge)
Strength (for bear and cat AP)

Most feral druids will tell you to prioritize Agility over Strength.

If you are soloing a lot, you'll want to mix in a little intellect to keep your mana pool sufficient for healing yourself during long fights. One piece of caster gear usually did it for me.
