hi,

I've heard that exe sux for paladins (pve) and that they should take mongoose instead, is that true or do we just need alot of ArP or something like that before its better than mongoose?

Thing is Paladins have a mix of Holy and Physical damage, therefore Executioner loses some of its luster on a Retadin since magic damage bypasses armor anyway.

with a standard rotation you should still have up to 75% white dmg. also from wowwiki:

Quote:
2% faster weapon swings. This does not increase haste rating and dps remains unchanged. (Weapon speed faster by 2% but damage of each weapon swing decreased by 2%. Damage per sec stays the same.)

so exe is okay to get on your wpn or should I stick to mongoose? or will exe become better at some point?

so will executioner become better than mongoose or savagery at any time or will it just a waster of money? (for pve)

Ummmm, if that's what Wowwiki says about Mongoose, it's wrong. Weapon damage does not decrease when Mongoose procs.

It doesn't add haste rating because that would get all funky with level scaling (Mongoose would become ungodly powerful at level 35 if it gave enough haste rating to equal 2% at level 70)

However, it does perform exactly like haste rating items.

from what i can gather:

Quote:
Weapon damage does not decrease when Mongoose procs.

dont confuse weapon damage with damage from the weapon.

average damage per swing = (Weapon DPS + AP/14) * Weapon Speed
simple dps = average damage per swing * swing speed

mongoose(affects weapon speed and swing speed) causes lighter hits at a faster rate. haste(only affects swing speed) causes same hits at a faster rate.

i would be willing to bet that mongoose was only intended to affect swing speed.

edit: can anyone confirm this is the correct or incorrect usage of the proc?

Flurry does not provide haste rating, but it provides Haste. It does not lower your average weapon damage.

Mongoose does not provide haste rating, but it provides Haste. It does not affect your average weapon damage.

Seal of the Crusader provides haste, but point blank says your average weapon damage will go down.

Mongoose works like Flurry, not like Seal of the Crusader.
