in an effort to improve raid dps on lurker, i am thinking of respeccing to 33/28 blood frenzy with sword spec so i can land the blood frenzy debuff and also put out better personal dps than i could with mace spec (i have deep thunder in the bank). i figure that the 2h swords most readily available to me are either Khorium Champion or an honor grind to Gladiator's Greatsword. does the Khorium Champion's proc make it equal to the s1 2h sword, despite the 10 dps difference? i calculated an average 8.6 dps addition to Khorium Champion's dps assuming 1 PPM on the strength proc, so that would make it close but not quite there, though i think the Khorium Champion being more immediately available makes it an attractive option (especially since i hate to pvp).
for pve, the champion might be better since youll ideally be raid buffed, so that str proc will mean more. but for pvp and overall damage, the glad sword is way better. in fact, depending on your group setup the glad sword may be better.
i don't usually have LotP in my group buff anymore, and my DW weapons don't have crit or even agi on them so i don't think i'll be missing the extra crit on the s1 sword.
btw i usually offtank melee adds on lurker (poor latency, 700ms at best, makes it impossible for our mages to consistently land a sheep on the melee adds), so i figure going with a 33/28 build would be best, since i would be wearing more tanking gear anyway.

surprisingly, slam DPS is better with faster weapons. Which is another reason why a 31/30 build does slightly more personal dps than a 33/28 build does. But the 2 points for blood frenzy usually out weight the difference by increasing overall raid dps a bit.
I'd go with the gladiator's greatsword, given the 2 things your doing. Specifically, your gimping your personal PvE DPS by going 2h and blood frenzy, is 8-10 dps gonna really deflate your raids overall raid DPS that much, probably not. But you still want to do PvP, and the S1 sword is way better for PvP than the Khorium Champion is.

Since you're a BS, the best thing would be to get the Tier 2 BS'ing sword, Tier 3 if you could. Just switch your BS'ing spec, since you don't PvP much I doubt Deep Thunder gets a whole lot of use.

Ah, right, duh. But if you go over to raid MS, are you really doing to be using Dragonstrike all that much?
Another option might be to dump some badges and gold on getting Stormherald for a few weeks. If you get the 27k honor and S4 hasn't been announced yet, then go for the S1 sword, and if it has been announced then go with the slightly worse weapon (mace) for a few more weeks and then get S2 for honor when you can. Or grind out the 27k honor twice, but that doesn't sound too appealing to me >.>

with BG PVP being the way it is on stormrage, i think i might just have the honor i need by the time S4 comes around. good call on waiting for S4 though, i would really hate to have ground out the honor for the S1 2hander, and then have S4 come out a week later >.>
